That pricing is garbage, its not worth $140.

You don't need a DVD drive, all you'd need that for is the product key it comes with. You would install with a USB you create with their tool and activate with the key included with the DVD

No, I never said receiving stolen goods about an OEM DVD. Just using eBay or cheap Windows Key sites. But I guess I get what you are saying.

How much you spend on Windows determines what people can suggest you get for GPU and monitor.

 

You're asking for advice on a forum where most of the people helping you KNOW how to save money, legitimately.  You are refusing to listen to said advice.

 

Kind of a big deal in the asking for advice circus.

Point taken. Point taken. I don't mind the advice about buying an OEM DVD or using Windows with a free watermark for a while. I just don't trust cheap Windows Keys. Is that a big problem? I determined to transfer a key probably would never be a problem so I may just go with that. So, yes, math.

I've been using the same OEM key that came with a prebuilt system I bought in 2015 on 3 different configs across 4 or 5 different installs. And I'm planning on reinstalling again soon since my shutdown time is way too long for an SSD.

 

A product key is a product key, OEM is just where you got it from.

Thank you for clarifying. Thinking about it, I could use an OEM key. Taking $30 dollars off of Windows could get me to $350-360 I believe if my math is correct.

I didn't consider buying an OEM DVD until now so that is another good option. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Roughly yea, easily gets you a 2060; granted you would be buying a new monitor later at that point. If you dropped to a RX580 (or similar) then you might be able to squeeze in a 1080p 60Hz monitor.

I haven't been extremely clear with my plans, so I will kind of explain better. I may use my cheap 18 inch TV from 2008 until Christmas where I may get a larger TV. Then I could use my newer 32-inch TV as my computer's monitor and then use the larger TV for my Xbox.

Sounds like a plan, go with a 2060 all they way at that point.

I'd love to hear other cool recommendations from the community so definitely feel free to post more suggestions. I am keeping my options open since it will still be a little bit before I get the card and Windows. Please don't take offense anyone who has given me suggestions. I am just weighing my options and giving everyone an opportunity to voice their opinions, even though some may disagree.

Also, I never said steal Windows. Although those cheap keys from eBay could have been bought with a stolen credit card, so that is what I am saying. And I never questioned the legitimacy of anyone on this thread, have I? I did not refuse to listen and I probably will buy the OEM DVD since that is cheaper. Read every bit of what I have said and this may become clear to you.
