If it is home theatre then there is no such thing as a driver for it and what not.  Your motherboard audio or sound card audio just connect to optical SPDIF or line in.  So actually you need drivers, your motherboard audio drivers or sound card drivers and you should bet set.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

You have your audio connection.  You would go from Theatre to green 1'8 or actually any color since you can choose what it does with Realtek drivers.

If you have SPDIF on your motherboard then you would go from amp into the spdif and your set.  If not SPDIF then you need to use the line connection.

hdmi is best...then you get all dolby and dts the receiver supports plus that receiver has hdmi out also so go to the receiver then to your monitor/tv

do NOT connect with the green 3.5mm jack (facepalm) its only stereo besides that reciever does not support 3.5mm jacks

and you mobo doesnt support tos

that mobo has hdmi, tos. and enough 3.5 for it...but.....receiver has to support the connections

tos can only do compressed 5.1 dolby and dts..the basic ones

hdmi supports all dolby's and dts's and uncompressed

the 3.5 jacks support up to 5.1 but only if receiver supports the connection

hdmi to a receiver is the way to go because its uncompressed and it sends all dolby/dts formats as long as what your watching/playing has it. the sound quality/channel separation of the better dolby's/dts's are so much better
