Dedicated Streaming PC / 2nd Media PC

Ambrother

Hi All,

I was looking in building a 2nd dedicated streaming PC/2nd pc that is easily portable around the house. I was thinking of getting as follows for it.

Any recommendations in cutting the cost down besides the obvious.

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 w/ Wraith stealth

RAM: Team T-Force Dark 3000Mhz 8gig

Motherboard: MSI B450I Gaming Plus

PSU: Corsair CX 550M - would prefer a semi Modular psu to cut down on unnecessary cables.

HDD Samsung 860 evo 500gb m.2 - See above comment

GFX Card: GTX 1050 Ti  - Mainly for a possible multi monitor setup and light gaming

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Mini ITX

I already have an elgato HD60s

Any recommendations are welcome.

I was looking at possibly a ITX build but open to other form factors if the cost is down significantly.

This is what i am looking as cost wise in AUD

By streaming machine you mean for capturing and uploading to youtube, twitch etc. ?

Then that build should be more than enough to to handle OBS. Also what target video bitrate you aiming for?

If you mean streaming games around the home ( Nvidia game stream / Moonlight) an Android TV box or a Nvidia shield would be ideal.

Streaming as in Twitch.

At the moment my that i just built can stream at 4200 bitrate at 30 fps at 1080 but i have noticed some fps dips especially with Apex Legends due to CPU usage being high.

With a dedicated PC i could do 6000 bitrate 1080 60 easy since my old i3 media PC could do it without issue.

i3 = 2 core 4 threads.

can be easily replaced with extra cores and enough memory (16gb minimum).

You said this pc will be the second for streaming only.

So i think for streaming only is just too much.

- 4 cores CPU should be enough

- No need for GPU, i think ryzen apu will do the trick (2200g).

So i think you should invest the smallest pc you can build.

Get a mini ITX motherboard and the slimmest case.

Or you can get a new cpu with more cores on your main gaming pc and install the streaming pc on a VM.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
