Vega VII passes the 2080 in maybe 2 titles and is within 10% for the rest.

Whats the diff between 2080ti And 2080 ??

30-40ish%

Almost upgraded my 2080 to the $999 2080ti version but I wouldn't be satisfied until throwing an EK block even then I was apprehensive due to it being a non A chip.  I got one of the best 2080's cooling wise with Samsung memory that will do +1000.  As much as I tried to talk myself into it the best thing to do is wait for 7nm ...

No, the $710 gigabyte OC is perfectly fine.

Depends *if* your tolerance level for noise is high.  I can't even stand breaking 900-1000 rpm on my radiator lol.

It's not any noisier than the other models.

That's a change then I had several 1080ti cards the entry level ones were not satisfactory I had a Gaming X and Strix card that was way better.  My 2080 Strix was 740 open box BTW.  When I was reading the $999 2080ti reviews people were stating it was hitting 80% fan!

EDIT: Looked up the model your probably fine with that 3 fan design...

The 2080, the Radeon VII is underwhelming. If you don't need or want raytracing, get a 1080ti.

Like 30% performance, the 2080 Ti is a dream card for sure, but it'll come at a real premium.

Radeon 7 is a card with low availability and generally offers nothing special, it competes with the last gen 1080 Ti costing more than what you can find those used.

With nVidia supporting FreeSync now I don't see any point on the Radeon 7 card for gaming, only at workloads where the 16gb of HBM2 can be used for something.

Looking into GPU Upgrade but cant Decide between Vega VII And RTX 2080

Throw a coin.

Do you want to do other, non gaming stuff with the GPU??
In general, I'd expect the Radeon 7 to be better when its drivers are a bit more optimized right now.

There might be a bit potential.

But in general, from what we know, it might be possible that we'll see something better in like half a year or so...

So maybe look at VEGA 56 instead??

Also:
You get 3 nice Games with Radeon 7:
Division 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2.

Radeon VII is better for specific workstation tasks, but the drivers are kinda not there yet at the moment and it is sold out too.

2080 has turing stuff like real-time raytracing and DLSS, but those aren't really supported heavily right now.  The 2080 also wins, according to benchmarks, in most titles at those resolutions at the moment.  That could be due to the driver issues with the VII.

There's an easy fix for that.

Just go to Wattman, select "Auto Undervolting", apply and Card is quieter.

You can reduce the noise further with manual undervolting...

its about twice as loud as the MSI trio X (its the 2080 GBT gaming OC), and the Trio X has a higher fac OC, and lower temps.
