Id say 3DMark FireStrike that will give you a good overall idea of how your GPU is preforming and also if it is stable. Superposition is also pretty good and will stress your GPU pretty hard. FURMark is a good benchmark for overall raw performance but not so much for stability.

 

If your looking to test your GPU in practical scenarios though and not just looking to see how much performance you can squeeze out of your GPU I personally think it is better to test in actually game play rather than synthetic bench marks. Synthetics by design are going to stress your GPU much harder than really any game would in real life. 

Hello, I am wondering what a good stress test is for a gpu to test overclocks. I have ungine engine superposition benchmark is it good to test the OC with? Whenever I use heaven or valley I see flickers even on stock settings so i don't really trust them. The guide I read for testing an OC ( https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/safe-gpu-overclocking-guide-2016-r1-3.2384406/ ) says to use "msi kombuster". No matter how long I run it when the green line of the bottom reaches the end it closes itself. If you used it, is that normal?

Also have OCCT, I use that for my cpu (even though it says 4.8 when it's at 5.0 on cinebench) is it a good stress test for gpu? Trying to get a good stress test to make sure my gpu in stable. One more thing, I don't exactly understand what "lines, artifacts, and colors are off" are exactly. As I said I see lines often with valley & heaven but never in games with a small OC I know works or stock as I mentioned.

So what exactly should I be looking for when using superposition?

I usually don't see black glitches, lines or jagged edges like I do in valley and heaven. If I do try in reach 2000mhz without following the guides voltage setting (that seems scary to me) superposition will kick be back during test to the ungine engine 2 screen which will make me end task via task manager.

This is on a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti FTW2.

I personally check if my GPU overclock is stable by making it run through all three Unigine benchmarks consecutively(Valley, Heaven, Superposition) and then take it through my usual games.

I'd have to buy 3DMark FireStrike. Which I'd like to cause I hear time-spy in particular is really good for checking if artifacts are present. I will test games as well. Most I'm playing now are new-ish games also have benchmarks built in so may be good to try that as well.
