Do you have something decent??

The Seasonic is the worst one, the other ones are a bit better, but still not recommended.

Enough. Where are You located?  Few very popular options on a budget here are seasonic focus plus 450/550w gold and bitfenix whisper m450/550w, and also be quiet pure power 11 500 w. S

All of these frequently recommended locally

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

You do realise a PSU is more than just caps? The S12 II lacks protections, which is the least you'd expect from any PSU.

Well jokes on you. It has no Crapxon or Fuhhyouu inside that are pretty much only used for planned obsolescence.

Tell that to Delta :3

Also, what good are Wapanese caps when the PSU kills your system or starts a fire, instead of safely shutting down?

Oh, don't worry, the S12II is great example of planned obsolescence. If you use semi-fanless mode, capacitors will end up getting cooked, great thinking by Seasonic there!

Yes it should be enough unless you decide to upgrade to something like 2070 or 2080 more ram 16 gb and something like 2600 in the future.

Caps are the least important part of the PSU.

@attrqmksflla Don't listen to this guy, get a cx 2017 450w or system power 9 400w instead whichever is cheaper.

Try using this tool: http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/

Hope that helps :)

PSU calculators always overestimate the necessary wattage and this isn't on purpose; the site needs sales from affiliate links.

Just get a decent 500-550, many times they are cheaper than "good" 450w units.

Ill put it this way, you need get the Lexus/Mercedes of 450w units or the Toyota of 550w units.

Yes. Better to choose a badly built psu made from bad parts with a protection that might work than to choose a well built unit with good built quality.

And why even buy a bad one? Just buy a Corsair Vengeance 500W, Seasonic Focus plus 550. Youll go through 2 shitty fuhyouu powered psus in that 5-10 year warranty time if you put any real load on it.

With the S12 II, you get a bad PSU from a company that has issues with QC and that outsources its PCB-A production, and that lacks protections

Its not any worse than cheap crap made form fuckyou and crapxon.

To be clear, those protections mean nothing unless they offer warranty for parts your psu broke.

That's just some bullshit FUD Propaganda from People who have no idea what the heck they're talking about.

There is just so much more to a PSU than capacitors. And just claiming that its about the Capacitors is just wrong.

First:
The other ones usually don't have CapXon either and the other one is "Fuhyyju" and wasn't seen in PSU for like 10 Years or more.

The lifetime of Capacitors depends on:

a) The Ripple Current applied

b) the temperature.

And I haven't seen many faults that look like "broken Capacitors" in the recent years, wich means that people either know how to treat their caps or the caps just got better...

On the other hand, I've heard/seen about Seasonic units that look like failed Capacitors.

And also a ton of S12II based units that have failed PFC Section.

What good do Caps do, when the PFC and other parts are the weakpoints?!

Without knowing the Design, its impossible to tell anything about reliability. Caps are not the weakpoint in moddern PSU!

What happens when a PSU lacks protection, you see here:

https://www.overclock.net/forum/31-power-supplies/944707-why-single-rail-not-better-than-multi-rail.html

And you ever heard about the Inventioned called "Fuse" and "Breaker"?? And what they do. Especially in your house?

Might they be to prefent Fires??
That is what the Protections are for.

As well as protecting the PSU against failure due to misuse or a fault in your system.

Here a Review:

https://www.computerbase.de/2017-07/cooler-master-cougar-xfx-zalman-netzteil-test/

XFX TS (zweite Revision) is your beloved Seasonic. In another Review, they even killed a 350W Seasonic because lack of protection.

The Cougar is there and the Master Watt MWE is based on that.

The Cougar beats the shit out of the S12II-Bronze variant. Has working protections. Is far quieter and doens't have the redicuouls 2000rpm at around 250W Load like the Seasonic does...

But Group Regulation is shit anyway.

Ok, so buy a cheap psu then. No need for Focus Plus with 10 year warranty for 30€:s more :D

Nobody said anything about buying cheap.
Just that caps are irrelevant.

As other Parts become more relevant.
And before Caps go bad, there are situations where the +5VSB Chip explodes.

Yeah, no. As the Focus Plus is not that great, as this proves:
https://bit-tech.net/news/tech/psus/seasonic-warns-of-focus-plus-psu-compatibility-issues/1/

And 10 Years Warranty are less important than you think. Because nobody knows if the Manufacturer will leave the Market, go bancrupt or there is just a new SPecification that makes the PSU useless (personally I'd bet on the Specifications)...

And there are other things in the Warranty terms that give the Manufacturer every right to just say no.

I really don't get why people are so obsessed with the Warranty length and don't even look at the Terms or think about them...

Because that's more important. If you have 5 or 10 Years? Who cares. Especially since the ATX Specification survived double the time its predecessor did. And its some shit from the 80s that was designed to power the CPU I/O stuff directly from the PSU - wich obviously nobody did. And was made, like its predecessor, to be rather 5V heavy - wich nobody really uses today...
