Anyone have this super ultra wide gaming monitor ?

Turtle Rig

I am just wondering if anyone has the Samsung 49" QLED HDR 144hz  Super Ultra Wide 32:9.  I ask because I'm currently waiting patiently for the new Samsung 49" 2019 monitor which will be 5120x1440 and 120Hz

I want to know your experience watching movies or utube and also gaming ?  Also how is the image and view angles.  Also how long does it take to get used to the super ultra wide and what not ?  Thanks

I don't have experience, but I would imagine that 32:9 should be strictly for productivity or games that benefit from the larger wide space like racing sims. For videos basically everything will have black bars on the side (half the screen with typical 16:9 videos, slightly less black bars on 2:1, and even less but still on 21:9 content).

Current Desktop Build | 2200G | RX 580 4GB | 8GB RAM | CTRL | Logitech G Pro Wireless

Laptop | 2018 MBA 256/16GB | MX Master

Thank you for the reply my friend...  Man black bars suck!!!  What gets me excited is the 5120 horizontal res as that will be nice in my DAW.  Also I will be playing mostly AAA titles.  I know Quake Champions supports 32:9 and just hope these current games support it as well.  So there is no way to somehow change the aspect ratio so utube videos fit the entire screen or that ain't going to happen ?

You're going to need BALLER hardware to run at that resolution in that framerate.

And you can't change a video's aspect ratio. You can zoom in like in a phone and have 1/10th strip of the video

OH heck no,, I will be gaming at 1440p.  I will use the native resolution on the desktop.  Or did you mean it will tax the desktop ?  It shouldn't I've had a 4k monitor Sammy for 4 years before I got another 4k monitor.

So you don't mind black bars during gaming or what?

I mean that this resolution is equivalent to running 2⅔ 1440p regular, 16:9 displays. And to do that in AAA games at 120hz is going to take a serious system.

But it seems you're a serious enthusiast, so by all means, go for it. It seems like a gaming experience like no other.

Hopefully the black bars don't bother you that much for video watching. I guess it being OLED is going to make it better though.
