Samsung home theater no sound

basicly i tested the home theater and it works but when i use the hdmi cable the testing works but as soon as i try to watch tv no sound and i have it on d,in mode

are you sure you have your input on your receiver set to TV?

Im not quit sure then try swapping cables but it seems like something in  the settings, but it is hard to trouble shoot with out being able to sift through them and look.

What model tv, and what model HT? How old is equipment? Something isn't adding up here.

one thing that just popped in my head.....i thought my new receiver died..everything but tv section (hdmi) worked, contacted pioneer about it...we spent 30 minutes trying different things...it turned out to be the speaker a/b...somehow a cat hit the button. my receiver didnt even have a speaker a/b connection set up to boot but still had the button

so maybe check that

basicly if i connect it with a hdmi cable it dosent work but if i use aux cable it works

well when my brother got it 2-4 years ago he got it used but it was in pretty good condition
