Asus crosshair v formula z lights up but doesn't work

Hello. I just recently bought the Asus crosshair v formula z from Facebook. The board lights up but doesn't work. The power button does not do anything and even shorting the pins for front panel power switch does nothing. 

 

MY specs

Fx 8350

Asus crosshair v formula z 

16gb corsair vengeance pro 2400mhz 

16gb Kingston hyper x savage 2400mhz

Is this DDR3 or DDR4 ram?

Check the cables, if they are all for the PSU.

Remove everything check if it works.

Test a different PSU

The ROG 990FX Crosshair V  Formula-Z has a Q-Code debug read-out at the top-right corner of the board.

What Q-Code to you get stuck at?

( My Crosshair V Formula non-Z doesn't have a Q-Code read-out so it was a bit more painful to troubleshoot )

 

Also, why did you need to short the pins to start up the motherboard....

When you have the PHYSICAL 'Start' and 'Reset' buttons on the motherboard??

The features of a high-end board are there, but you don't use them...c'mon mang!

 

Also, make sure the 'Slow Mode' toggle switch is in the OFF position.

It is the toggle switch at the top-right corner, near the Q-Code read-out.

What else...the 'Fast Boot' toggle switch should also be in the OFF position, for easier troubleshooting -- bottom-right corner of the board.

 

8-pin CPU power connector is mandatory, while the 4-pin CPU connector is optional.

The 4-pin connector should be unnecessary, even for water cooling -- my FX-8350 was not limited by power even @ 5.0 GHz.

There is no Q code. It is blank. Like I say the lights on the board light up.  

 

I had to physically short the pins because the start and restart are not working. And still Physically shorting the pins still didn't make it turn on. Bit even a fan spin.

 

I have both switches to OFF position.

 

I have got the 8 pin 12v EPS connector in the correct socket.

Does the Debug LEDs (e.g. CPU / DRAM / GPU / BOOT) light up at all?
