New FHD monitor (24") for gaming

Hi!

 

Please suggest a good fhd monitor with sharp/clear/crisp/non grainy display. I owned a few aoc's and other mid range crap and finally its time to buy a high quality monitor for gaming.

I had the canche to see a dell p2416d and i was amazed of the clearity and sharpness but most of all it wasn't grainy!

 

I own a 2080 ti windfroce, so monitor will be 24", IPS, FHD and 144hz if it is not to expensive...

Please don't go for 1080p monitor with that 2080Ti, you will be limiting it hard. The 2080ti shines on 1440p high refresh or 4K 30-60 fps.

There's no CPU on the market that can make a 2080Ti work to its max performance on a 1080p screen.

 

What's your budget?

Interesting read...resolution can limit the card? Where did you get that from?

 

Budget limit...there isnt one yet until i get some concrete suggestions?

Since it's not difficult for a 2080 ti to run a 1080p screen it's gonna limit the card, i'd get a 1440p 27" 144hz, a rog swift maybe? depends a bit on your budget, but since you got a 2080ti you should look into 1440p or 4k and save money a little bit longer for it. Otherwise getting a 2080 ti would be a waste of it's performance

The 2080Ti is so powerful that there's no CPU on the market that could prepare enough frames for the 2080Ti to render on that resolution.

Let's say in game X the GPU can render 250 fps but there's no CPU that can prepare more than 150 frames in that game X.

The GPU would be unutilized 40% in the game X meaning it will perform the same as a 40% weaker card.

 

I haven't seen a 2080Ti going over 50% in any game on 1080p. It was simply designed for higher resolutions.

I agree.  You bought a $1200+ gpu and you need to pair it with a balanced monitor.

I'd second whats already been said.  If you're going 1080p don't get bigger than 24" if you plump for 1440p get a 27" and if you do decide to go 4k grab a 32" (this will drastically limit your Hz options tho)  Do you have space on your desk for a 27"?  Don't put too much stock into what @191x7 is saying about limiting the 'upper end' of the cards full potential.  If you're running 144Hz you'd probably want V-Sync on anyways (locking your framerate to 144fps) to get rid of tearing and stutter that's so prevalent in games nowadays anyways

The Dell is a nice monitor.  Not quite what I'd get, but if you liked it, get it.

No 1080p suggestions here.  Getting a $1200+ GPU to use at 1080p isn't something I can understand.  

 

I'd be looking at 1440p 165Hz+ or 1440p 120Hz UW.

 

Again, if you want that monitor, grab it.

Have a look at the Gigabyte AD27QD. Had the screen over a week now and I’m in love with it. 

1440p (I’ll never go back to 1080p), 144hz, HDR400, IPS,1ms,  27 inch. 

 

Also it’s brand new (on market since a couple weeks)

It's not that they don't want to help you, it's just that you're not asking the right question basically. If you want to stick at 24" or even 1080p you should honestly get something like 24" 1080p 240 Hz. If you want to stick at 24", 1440p isnt that much of a gain. If you are sticking to 1080p, then you really shouldn't getting less than 144 Hz. Also 1440p 144hz IPS 24" screens are a rarity. They might not even exist(not sure about this)

Also everyone is asking your budget. No magical forum poster is going to conjure a screen without knowing your actual need. You need a 20$, 200$, 2000$ screen? Tell us. Instead of people throwing out random screens if you give us a budget we can find a fitting screen. (also audibly laughed when I read that you have a 2080TI and you are looking for a 1080p monitor. That's like buying brand new rims for your Toyota Corolla 1998)

Right, at the minute with the info we have the best we can do is type into amazon "ips 24 144hz FHD". Personally I did a quick search and couldn't find anything with what you're asking for, probably for the reasons stated in previous posts. The best I could see was everything you wanted except ips, if you jump up to 1440p or higher then you'd be golden.

 

Although asking someone to help while rudely insulting their method of trying to help you in between is, well, kind of rude. That might be why people aren't inclined to help too, all due respect. Good luck shopping anyway!

 

Edit: Man I take it back, even considering 1440p I can't see anything close to what you want at 24".

Dude just try to get a deeper table. 1440p is virtually non existent at 24" and you'll be demeaning your 2080Ti by going any lower than 1440p. Mod your table or something and get a 27" Viotek monitor. Recently many videos were uploaded on youtube of new monitors with 1440p 144Hz VA panels.
