Minecraft freezing PC, handles heavier games fine?

So I play 30 minutes of minecraft and it freezes my PC completely, no sound, no BSOD, just freezes everything and everything stays still, keyboard and everything including RGB's are unresponsive. Only able to hard reset. It can't be overheating as my PC isn't even hot and it can run heavier games, such as Fortnite, Path of Exile and Apex Legends fine for 2 hours straight without crashing. I have no idea why Minecraft is causing this. I resetted my BIOS completely by removing silver circle thing in motherboard and putting it back in, haven't overclocked anything.

 

Specs: 

i5 6600k

gtx 1060

z170a pc mate motherboard

16gb ram

 

I'm using Optifine 1.13.2 (latest version) , it's crashed on multiplayer and single player with a friend, I read it COULD be Java problem but I dont know.

Try without optifine, an older version, and with a different Java version. Minecraft isn't exactly a light game to run.

Potential memory leaks?  Mod incompatibilities?  Post your crash-log (if it crashes)..  But it sounds like the mod itself is causing huge leaks in potentially memory or its throttling something.  Downgrade to a more stable version?

It's fixed, I just capped my FPS to 255 instead of Unlimited according to a redditor and it's worked!

Of curiousity, was your FPS running past 255 -- like 1,000?  I've heard of an old sims game doing that as well and then it would lag horribly bad because the FPS was too high.

Basics and not very well. But you're severely limiting what you can do as well. Vanilla minecraft, with some redstone machinery and/or large number of entities can go from (barely) running on 3rd gen mobile i5, to having issues on a Haswell-E system.
