I'm surprised how good the camera on the Ulefone looks in the pictures shown in this video. I got an Oukitel K10 a few weeks before the Power 5 was announced, which has the same specs but a 11 Ah battery and I love it except for the camera which is subpar at best.

 

I will not go back to a phone with a lower capacity battery. Not having to worry about battery life when you're out traveling for a day or three is amazing.

If my cheapo (~£60) Huawei mobile died, this is the kind of mobile i would consider replacing it with if i knew for sure i was going to using it alot, which to be fair is unlikely as i've had my current phone for over 4 years now and the most i ever used it was during breaks at work to browse the news and every now and then watch a youtube vid. I did however have to keep it charged every day which was a PITA becouse i consistently forgot to do it simply due to the fact i only ever used it for work, and once work is over for the day i put it(work) entirly out my mind and think nothing of it(and thus my phone) till the next morning. So i inevitiably had to charge it whilst on the production line at work lol.

 

So yea a high battery capacity mobile would be very convienient and i couldnt care less about its bulk. My current phones thickness with its case is roughly that of the phone in the vid, its just smaller in the oher dimensions.

 

Again though, even if it only cost £200, thats more than i would normaly consider spending on a mobile, i dont find the value in them. So ..maybe..,  its a more attractive offer than the other mainstream options at that price point for sure.

I used to get a Week out of my Original Motorola Razr Maxx, but to be fair I rarely used it, using it I could do like 10-14 hours Screen on Time streaming Netflix over wifi with the 4G radio DISABLED (remember back when you could actually shut off the 4G radio and not just toggle the access to Data on and off).

 

I've been saying for years that smart phones are to thin and they should double up on the capacity of the battery and just make the phone a little thicker, but everybody be chasing that Apple to thin to fit a headphone jack shit.

Can you do airplane mode and Wifi on? That should be the same as disabling network/call. Though I agree, IIRC my older phones did have options to turn 3g/4g/etc on and off independently to the phone carrier/call handling.

I like the concept - but:

1. It's overkill - halve the battery capacity and slim it up a bit.

2. Well, the phone itself is kind of crap. I'd personally never buy it - but decent for people on a very low budget.

 

Now, give me a flagship phone with ~4000-5000 mAh? I'd be more interested. And yes I know the Note 9 has a 4000 mAh battery, but I don't want a phablet.

Two words - replaceable batteries. Companies like Mugen Power had this down to an art back in the day when you could not only replace your factory battery when it pooped it's pants, but sell you a larger back cover to fit a larger battery, sometimes 3x the capacity of the factory one. The downfall with Mugen was the quality of the cells they used wasn't that great - the one I had in my old HTC Touch Pro 2 lasted maybe a year before it "got fat". Swapping batteries solved so many problems: longer run times, higher capacity batteries, the ability to replace dead batteries, swapping it yourself in 5 seconds instead of paying and waiting on some wrench monkey to take your phone apart.

 

Thin means compromise - something that I have been screaming for over a decade. It's evident in laptops with shitty cooling/thermal throttling and smart phones when it comes to battery life. And you can forget any "style argument" from Apple, they've conveniently masked that because they know they can (1) charge you prime rate for a battery replacement (2) void your phone/laptop warranty if you try to do it yourself (3) make you spend more on battery banks or mobile chargers if you need extended use (4) install "latest firmware" to slow your perfectly working device down to a crawl encouraging you to buy a new phone and (5) unashamedly wipe ALL your important data/settings. These guys aren't stupid. They KNOW that replaceable batteries are a convenience for the user. They simply refuse to give it to us, rather make the life of the consumer HARDER instead of easier.

 

So to the greedy folks at Apple/Samsung/Dell etc... who may be wondering why I change tablet/laptop batteries myself and why I am still using an older mobile OS, I graciously extend to you my middle finger. You are not holding me hostage.

2) Heatsink fins on the back for extra grip and cooling options.

 

3) Hardware buttons(Back, Home, Recent Apps, and Menu(the supposedly deprecated button that still serves a function in some apps))
