(Speakers) Creative Sound BlasterX Katana

hello i just bought a speaker from creative sound which is the blaster x katana . i dont know what is the difference between the optical cable and the normal usb cable does anyone here using the katana ? and does the optical cable make the speaker sound better ?

The optical cable is not subject to electrical interference which could happen via the USB, when you have badly shielded USB-ports. 

It even supports up to 5 channels - because the Katana is just an 5.1-soundbar, just use the optical cable and you'll be fine with that. ;)

optical does not natively support 5.0 channels. it has to be compressed. i would use USB kien due to it support high res files, non compressed 5 channel audio and overall, is generally easier.

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
