Soo apparently Logitech is doing a rerelease on the ol' legendary MX518 feb 19. i spottet it on the danish version of Komplett:

What are you expecting from this? i havent really seen anyone talking of this, i would think it was big news since this thing was

the bees knees. i had mine for 9-10 years before i upgraded to a g402 hyperion. i am seriously thinking about getting the rerelease!

Let's hope it's as good as the original. I still use my 10 year old mx518 as my daily driver.

Agreed! i wore down the back/forward buttons on mine, the only real reason i bought another mouse. ill be getting it aswell when the price drops
atm it is around 75usd/67euro/59GBP here in denmark

Owned an MX500 and i miss it. My fall back choices when i needed a new one was the G500 which was a good compromise. The G500 is better at productivity apps (CAD, programing, browsing) but the MX518 is quite superior in gaming mainly due to the location of the sensor and tracking quality. Will certainly get one when it gets out.

Hmmmm, that's a bit more than the original cost back in the day. From memory I think I paid $50 AUD ($35 USD) for it. Not entirely sure, it was a while ago.

 

Mine's still in really good condition. Only thing is the pads underneath have worn somewhat from years of dragging it across my desk (never used a mouse pad), but other than that it has held up pretty well considering how old it is.

 

I'd be really tempted to buy the re-release, however I'm worried that I'd notice any minor differences between the two and hate the new one.

I think it's mostly due to the higher taxes in denmark, id guess the msrp wouldnt be higher than 40-50usd.

regarding the pads, (teflon pads), replacement upgrades can be had for as little as 2-5usd. and they do work wonders!

im gonna try it when its in stock locally, if its good ill buy it on sale :D

So I've been using a $12 mouse for a good while, and have considered an upgrade to a nicer mouse. I'll lose the green LEDs I currently have, but for someone like me, what would a mouse like this have to offer?

They released this in China last year, so you've been able to get them already. However, I'm happy to see an even further rollout. While I don't need a new mouse right now, I might just grab one to keep. I still have a few mostly working ones around.

I literally just replaced my MX518 a couple months ago on Black Friday, after using it since 2009... loved that mouse for it's confort. (it still works, just stored it with my old PC stuff)

 

If they upgrade the sensor on it and overall made it better to match their current offering, I'd probably buy it again.

But if it's literally just a re-release of the same old mouse with he same 3000dpi sensor... meh. The sensor in just outdated at this point and coming from it to a much more accurate G502 was quite a revelation and how bad it was on a 4k monitor.

I have a G502 and an MX Master 2s would this mouse be better than either of those two for anything? If so I will pick this up any suggestions?

I've been hunting for a brand new G400s for a while now. This shall be a suitable replacement. The mouse shell is far too comfortable in my hands.

 

There also might be a possible mablet v3 video when it happens.

The sensor and switches are updated.  The sensor is the Hero sensor. 

The folks over on the OCN forums been talking about this mouse for months now (individual found out about it from a reddit thread) and several of them already own one and some even modded theirs.
