What's the best new-to-gaming-gamer to start off with?

Dongwook23

I've been trying to get my mother to try gaming for once. She's been... Well only been playing candy crush and I wanted her to get outa there. So is there a good starting game for this type? I know the portal series is good but any other suggestions?

I started my mother off with Celeste, Dark Souls, and Momodora: RUtM. I can tell you which one she didn't take to kindly.

Ask her if she wants to try anything in particular. If not just showing her a few different types of games might interest her in one or two

how about something easy to go like cities skylines, stardew valley, the sims, etc

or if she interested in good story she can try out final fantasy series like 7,8,9,10 (recommend 10, not sure about others but in 10 it doesn't use ATB). could even go tomb raider or life is strange depending how your mom likes it

or good old racing games, NFS most wanted, GT or any decent racing games

Gotta be Celeste, not everyone is able to tolerate so much cringe on a single game

Bejeweled series, similar to Candy Crush and has different game modes.

Mario Kart series(if you have an Nintendo console).

Dance Dance type games.

Kirby games with co-op.

My mother not a big gamer, but she enjoys similiar games to Candy Crush and liked playing these games.

Ironically enough, it was Momodora. It took my mother two days to get through the Asylum Demon (she killed it instead of bypassing it like most newcomers), but hated Momodora since it felt too slow.

My mom got addicted to pokemon lol. That was her gateway drug. After that, she was really into Nintendo stuff (Zelda it's her favourite one) and I believe since that first experience with the Gameboy, she got pretty much all the Nintendo console for herself. Maybe introduce her to something easy, portable and sweet, like a Nintendo 2ds. I know is not exactly THE ULTIMATE GAMING EXPERIENCE but it could be worry-free enough experience for her to get interested!
