Spray Painting PC Case (Stupid question but need answer)

This is probably a stupid question so sorry in advance, but can I spray paint the top and the back side (one of them in the case does not come off)  with the compnents inside? I would cover any entrance with newspaper.

Problem is I have no time for that as it would usually take more than 2 hours as it would be my first time.

Taking all the components out will be the only totally safe way to do it.

 

Other tips:

  • prep the area (this can depend on what you're painting: Just google: How to paint (Material) )
    • Sand down the area so the paint can stick
    • Wipe it down with iso afterward to remove oils
    • Mask off areas carefully - don't take any unnecessary risks.
  • Work in a warm place with good ventilation
  • Be patient. Paint drys slowly. You'll either do this quickly and poorly or patiently and well.

You would be much more likely to break something if you paint it with the components inside.  Is it a prebuilt?  They tend to be fairly easy to disassemble.  You won'tTM break anything as long as you don't apply unnecessary force and store everything well.

I got used, the guy got it brand new from Medion, but is there a guide to taking components out then putting them in again successfully?

If you google the make and model you can usually find a guide.  Other than that, watch a PC build guide backwards then forwards.

All you should have to do is disconnect the PSU from the motherboard, Unscrew the PSU and the motherboard's standoffs, then take the two components out.

 

Honestly, you could take pictures, post the on the forum,  and we'd be able to guide you through it step by step.

If you don’t wanna gut it, at least *gently* shove a bunch of newspaper and tissues inside it, close it, and put tape (masking tape) over the areas where paint could get in (holes, fan holes, cracks, etc)

Thanks for the help. I think that's what I will do, take pictures as you said, But the shouldn't I just buy a new case and you guys would help me through it? case
