Found This Case But I Dont Know What It Is!

As the title says, I found what seems to be a pretty old ATX PC Case but no amount of google-fu is getting an ID on it!

 

The motherboard tray supports up to an ATX motherboard (and mabe E-ATX, I dont own one to test), and slides out from the case. Maybe somebody here knows what it is?

Its a chassis off a Hellstorm 2000

 

Since it has the side window whereas the Hellstorm 2000 does not, Im trying to find a 2.0 version.

 

EDIT - Maybe, that's the easiest clue but Im sure someones google fu found that one already...its not solved yet!

Also Tornado 2000, but both of those models mentioned have the 3.5" up top and are missing the extra 5.25 bay. 

 

So its not the

Hellstorm 2000

Tornado 2000

Tornado 1000

 

Apparently 3dcool used to be the *ish lol a lot of OLD forums suggest them...but I cant find this model.  Im working today so I have to get back to that but Im still on the hunt!  Just info sharing maybe someone can catapult this search with those case search terms while Im away!

 

There was a Tornado 3000 but I CANNOT find a pic of that...1000 is smaller than 2000 and 2000 is smaller than the one pictured (with no sliding front)

 

Another manufacturer using a VERY similar chassis is the Chieftec Dragon full tower.  Some have a sliding, some have a swing open front.  But the bezels don't match.

And yes, I mounted my 120MM AIO to the side panel, its the only 120mm fan in the case.

And I do believe the side panel window was modded in, the fan holes look like they were cut with a hand tool up close.

I noticed the rubber grommet on the side window looks to be for a car windshield lol

 

Im going to look later some more - it may be a different front bezel on a Chieftec Dragon Full Tower - that inside pic lets me know that's a full aluminum tower as well.

It is infact all aluminum, I appreciate your help. I will say super tower-esque cases like this are a treat to work in; even old ones like this!

Removable trays where rare indeed. Was working as a PC-builder in that time-frame and do remember that some AOpen-chassis had that feature. Chieftech was up there as cream-de'la-cream, Cooler-Master and Lian-Li was exclusive with full aluminium chassis. CM had specific modell(s) in alu and Lian-Li was alu only.

They make life so much easier to work in! That really needs to come back into fashion, and I remember Linus (or maybe it was Dimitri?) agreeing with me in some build video.

Those bezels came in a million varieties.  At Computex 2001, 2002, 2003, etc. you would go to the Chenming booth, there'd only be three *different* cases, but a hundred on display.  The difference being the bezel.

My case only has 1 fan for exhaust where the Chenming has 2, atleast from the varients I can find pictures of. I also only have 1 caddy for 3.5" drives (though I'm sure it at one point had 2). The side panel is also wrong, mine has no latch

No.  Chenming is a manufacturer.  Not a model.

 

That's why it's a 901.  The PSU is mid mounted and there's the 80mm fan towards the top.

 

The Chenming you're thinking of is the one that was rebranded "Dragon" by Chieftech, Ultra, Antec, etc.  It's slightly smaller and has the PSU at the top with the two 80mm fans side by side just below.

 

As for the latch:  Even the Dragon variants don't all have side latches.  Some only had the slide in side panel.

 

The "3DCool.com" badge could be coincidental, but the case (or build) might have actually come from them, and the fact that 3DCool bought cases directly from Chenming and not one of their distributors sort of wraps up my conclusion in a nice little package.

im fairly sure that case is modded by the way the acrylic is in there, its a well made mod but it screams not factory and 2000s mod to me

I can almost guarantee that it is, as noted above the holes look like they were cut with a hand tool (Cuts are not perfect, minor heat damage to the lexan on the edge of the holes), and the rubber around the lexan is automotive window gasket

The Chenming 901 has several features mine does not, or lacks features mine does (from looking at pics)

The 901 has dual 80MM rear fans. mine does not.

The Chenming does not appear to have a removable motherboard tray, mine does.

The Chenming 901 has a very different PSU mount.

The Chenming 901 has dual floppy bays, mine has 1

The Chenming 901's bezels are very different, but I do not doubt that this may have been changed.

 

TL;DR, I do not believe my case is a Chenming 901, but I thank you for your help.
