I work for a retailer and one of our suppliers confirmed a 22/02/2019 release date for the GTX 1160Ti

My 1660 Ti has a gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO nutrition, so I can use it to it's maximum potential. For the highest fps, I also feed it through AGP and with Molex or SATA cables instead of unhealthy PCIe cables.

This better be sub $300 i swear, the market for mid-range cards right now is depressing, and with my 1080 basically matching a 2070 i would kill for an $700 1180ti

I agree, you have the $259 RX 590 and then there's basically the RTX 2060 at $349...
EDIT: At the moment you can also get a Vega 56 for $329 but I'm not sure if that's a particularly good deal.

IMHO the V56 is the best out of those 3, especially since it's the red dragon that's cheap. All it needs is a slight uv and a good oc on the core and mem since it matches V64 when at the same clocks.

At stock, Vega 56 is around 7% slower at 1440p than the RTX 2060 from what I know, and it's roughly 6% more expensive. Yeah, it has a bit less VRAM but it has some new features that may be of benefit in the future on top of better performance in rasterized games, I think I'd personally spend those $20 more.

BIOS mod it and now it's faster than a 2060 but uses 380W

Perhaps, however the percentage of users actually modding Vega cards is so small that I didn't take that into consideration on purpose...

V56 and the 2060 are essentially equal at stock, and the V56 benefits better from overclocking compared to the 2060 since nvidia gimped the voltage that turing can run at.

The power color red dragon or whatever it's called, is a fantastic card. It has amazing cooling and is the card gamers nexus used to power mod.

 

The power mod (and I think they flashed a Vega 64 BIOS to it) made it perform incredibly well. It was up there with the RTX 2070 and was a killer in price to performance.

Hardware Unboxed tested those cards at 1440p across 36 different games and the 2060 turned out to be 7% faster than Vega 56 at stock settings. With the Vega being a whooping 38% slower in GTA V for example. An average number from 36 modern games is quite accurate in estimating general gaming performance. Those cards are similar value-wise so IMO it's a better idea to buy the newer tech that draws less power while delivering higher performance.

I expect the coming 1160Ti (or whatever they'll call it) to be around Vega 56 in terms of performance.

Indeed it did. I wonder how many Vega 56 owners actually did all those mods (which by the way nearly doubled the power draw).

Indeed it did. I wonder how many Vega 56 owners actually did all those mods (which by the way nearly doubled the power draw).

That testing was done with a board partner oc card vs a reference V56, a bit unfair imo (though that isn't entirely their fault since nvidia shafted them). Also power draw is about equal after undervolting, there are outlier games for both sides with gta 5 being one for nvidia while strange brigade favors amd. I don't really see much compelling newer tech other than the improved async compute that turing offers, ray tracing is much too demanding and new for it to be a viable option, and dlss is just a bad looking upscaler that makes the performance uplift null imo. Also I doubt the 1660 ti will perform any better than the 1070 in most games, if it performed like a v56 then nvidia would just be cutting into their own market segment with the 2060.

All these midrange GPU naming cramps my brain. The OP says it's 1160Ti but the attached pic shows 1660Ti, and I still run a 1060, while we have 2060 around.. Someone please call emergency 666 ASAP!
