Best way of installing windows?

Download the windows installers from microsoft, make a usb installers and install without using any key.

Now you will have windows for free, but you can't adjust the personalization option, the looks will be default.

And you'll be bothered with an activation watermark at the bottom.

All windows updates and everything will run just the same as the real deal.

If you can't live with that, you can get the retail version for $100 or buy a OEM key (ebay, kinguin, gamivo) from $10.

Hello!

So I'll be building a new pc soon and I don't know witch is the best way to install windows.

I've heard you can use an usb and with windows media maker (or something like that) you can install windows and enter an CD key if you have one.

But I'm not 100% sure if it works like that.

And if I am right and I can do it like that, is it a good way of doing it, and if it is, where can I get cheap cd keys for windows 10 pro?

usb with windows install from Microsoft site and oem key or just deal with the watermark. Although I know some people are very against oem keys so you can just leave it un-activated.

A proper retail key you buy from MS, set you back around 100$ US.

Places like Kinguin can get you one for ~15$US, but the legality of it is a grey area.

It doesn't fit on a CD but you could use a DVD.

Yes, you can. But why would you? You should use dvd, not a cd though.

Windows is roughly around 3/4GB download. You'd need a 4.7GB DVD. Why can't you use a USB?

Yeah, you can do this absolutely fine but not with a CD since it only has a maximum capacity of 768mb or something, using a DVD is prefered as it can hold roughly 4.7GB on it I think and hence you will fit a full installation of windows on it. Most people use USB memory stick these days simply because it's easier and not everything has a DVD/CD R+W drive, most people skip this from their build now. However, maybe 10 years ago, using a DVD to install windows was the prefered method.
