Laptop Battery Degradation

Yes, but then again so will using it normally. Batteries have a finite amount of charge cycles. There are supposedly ways to extend battery life, but honestly none of the special charge cycles they reccomend has made a difference for me since the days of nimh and nicad batteries. Use it the way you want to and replace the battery when the time comes.

So I currently own the blade stealth late 2017 and I would like to start using it for gaming via eGPU. However I do not want the battery performance to be sacrificed because of it being plugged in all the time and in heavy use in games. Is this an actual concern for laptops?

Not nearly as bad as it used to be. It's still not ideal.
