GTX 1070 vs RTX 2060

redscape

Hey!

I've been parting out a new PC build.  CPU of choice is a Ryzen 5 2600X.

For GPU, in my location (UAE) the GTX 1070 and RTX 2060 are similarly priced. As far as i've seen, the RTX 2060 offers ~11% more performance compared to the 1070. But, the 1070 has 2GB more VRAM.

I play a lot of Flight Simulation Games (Prepar3D v4, X-Plane 11, DCS etc.) so what will be the best choice for me?

I am employed as a Systems Engineer for a flight simulator and we use cards with max dedicated VRAM, So I recommend the 1070.

Intel Core i7 9700F / Cooler Master 212 Evo / GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER / 16 GB G.SKILL RAM @ 2666MHz / GA-B365M-DS3H / EVGA 500w PSU

HP Pavilion Gaming 15 / Ryzen 5 4600H / GeForce GTX 1050 / 8 GB @ 3200MHz

  • 2 months later...

RTX2060 has VRM(GDDR6) which is faster than GTX1070's(GDDR5).but GTX1070's VRM(8GB) is larger than RTX2060(6GB).So I were you,I would go for RTX2060.
