how well (or bad) would it run SC + questions

Guillaume_L

I didn't know if i had to ask it in hardware or in this topic. but i'll try here.

i plan on making a pc with a GPU: RTX 2060, CPU: ryzen 5 2600, RAM: 32Gig, 240 gig SSD and 1t HDD

and i had some questions about my future config and SC.

1. does this game relay more on GPU or CPU?

2. is 32 gig RAM enough?

3. how many FPS would i have (approximately)?

4. would it be better to buy a higher end CPU or not?

5. is it worth buying a RTX 2070?

1. I use an 1800x and RX Vega 64, my CPU is usually around 30% and the GPU is around 90%+

2. Should be fine, I have 32GB running. Now that OCS (Object Container Streaming) is working i average around 5GB of RAM Dedicated with up to 16GB used at max.

3. I am gonna guess mid-40s to high 50s depending on resolution and settings. I get an Average of 53fp according to this page. (I play at 3440x1440p, ultra setting)

4. Its always better to have more CPU if you can afford it IMO

One very important thing is that if you do get it, make sure you run it on your SSD not HDD.

Remember that much of the performance issues are server side at the moment, so irrespective if your spec it'll hit a limit that's not within your control if the server you are on is under heavy load. It's not going to be like this forever but has been for quite some time.

16GB or slightly less is fine, OS + game loading for most people peaks around 11GB and that's in fairly unoptimised conditions,.
