Radiator Size

Hi guys,

  I am planning on a custom water cooled loop for my PC which has a threadripper 2950x with two RTX 2080ti FE. I want to know if a 360mm radiator of 45mm(copper radiator by Alphacool NexXxos series) be enough or I should add another 240mm radiator of 45mm(copper radiator by Alphacool NexXxos series). 

 

With a single radiator configuration I plan to have the loop as: Reservoir to rad to CPU to GPU's to Reservoir.

 

In case of adding a second rad of 240mm I plan to have the loop as: Reservoir to GPU'S to  360mm rad to CPU to 240mm Rad to Reservoir.

 

Pls kindly guide or advise.

CPU and 2 GPU's a minimum recommendation would be 120mm per component. With a Threadripper and 2080ti's, i would go for more.

 

So yea 360 + 240.

 

Loop order irrelivant so long as the res is befor the pump and located above it.

definitely get the second 240 rad. i'm running a Titan and a 1070 with a threadripper on just 360mm rad space, and while temps are definitely fine (low 50's under full load) they could definitely be better.

Definitely 360 + 240. 2 2080ti is enough to saturate a 360 when oveeclocked, let alone a Ryzen 16 core.

You probably *could* get away with a 360 but it's going to be running hot.  I have a 240 doing a Titan X and 7600k and the whole thing goes disco inferno in Superposition benchmark....but no throttling.

I normally tend to aim for 240mm per component. So that would be 720mm in total. So I would try to add another 360mm personally if possible, but if not then the thickest you can fit in your case

Tks guys. Tks a ton for all the suggestions. @AngryBeaver I think I have just enough space for a 45MM thick radiator. In case I am able to to get a 280MM rad of 45mm thickness will definitely go for it. Tks a lot guys.

Hi Guys,

  Just a small update, I finally have bought two radiators, 420MM of 45MM thickness and a 280MM also with a 45MM thickness, hope this will solve all the issues. Will soon start the work on my project and will love to post and share a few pics.

Are you using just one pump?
