Yea, it was actually rather clever at the time. It placed a thin auxiliary heatsink (with heat pipes coming from the CPU) over the RAM. And the fan over it would blow air down over the RAM to cool it as well.

The air is exhaust from the CPU heatsink so it'd be a little warm. But I'm sure the convective currents made from the heatsink fan helped more than just passive air cooling.

lol this is my current Cooler. I bought It new and have used it ever since, recently upgraded the dying fans with CM JetFlo 120's! I fully intend to jerry rig this beast to all future builds if possible as it keeps my 4.1 clocked FX6300 at 20°- 23°c Idle and with normal load like BF4 and Blackout it usually only gets to around 55°c or less.
