That seems like the first reasonable foldable phone. The back could still be glass so it's not that terrible polycarbonate lexan stuff

The way it folds creates a rather thick device, and I don't trust its longevity (and rumored price of ~$1300USD. I have no source of that, however. I remember reading it). Looks to be polished, however. A sexy device if it's the real deal.

I'd imagine that Samsung will do something like what they showed about 4 years ago.

This as the screen at least for once you can finally not need a cover and drop it all you want that won't be smashing.

Give me a paper thin phone that is just like a slab of display that i can fold on my wrist and chargest through movement, heat, sun. :D

Something like a rollable display tablet sized we'll probably see in time. 

 

Bu yeah ok cool concept, as long as they make the folding part not look and feel scuffed. Early tech and all I know. Android is getting software support for these so that's good. Now hardware, aside from folding tech improvements over time, needs to be made that it works and feels good in various folded and unfolded positions and orientations too.

If that's actually how polished it will be I may legitimately be willing to pay almost 2k for it. For what you get now phones are overpriced but for a folding phone it would be worth it since it's essentially a tablet and phone all in one.

It seems like this would very easily break if you try to carry it while folded and it's too big to carry it unfolded.

 

So what's the idea here? We go back to belt clips or some shit?

The prices of phones have gotten so ridiculous. I mean, we're already able to compare the price of a used car to the price of a brand new smartphone, so yeah, they've gotten pretty crazy.

People use phones different. I for one use mine as a media machine that texts and calls when I need it to. I'm going to love a folding phone on trips and doing things around the house.
