ALIENWARE AURORA R7 (pre build)

 

CPU: i5 8400

GPU: gtx 1050 ti

RAM: 1 x 8GB 2666mhz 

STORAGE: 1TB 7200RPM HDD

PSU: Alienware 460W

MOBO: alienware 0VDT73

 

hi i would like to upgrade my GPU, what are some of my options i would like to stream fortnite , black ops 4 , rainbow six

at 720P 60FPS and i have a 144hz monitor and my gtx 1050ti isnt making my 144hz worth it what should i upgrade my GPU to my budget is around 400$ +/-

i was thinking RTX 2060 do i have enough PSU powet for that?

Streaming is CPU heavy unless you use NVENC, so a better GPU is just gonna help frames a lot in gaming. I'm not able to see your PSU picture, but is it this one?

If so, it's gonna have appropriate cables.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

PSU has enough wattage, but does it have a PCIe 8pin plug?

 

Also for streaming, it's better to have more memory.

get one more stick of 8gb ram

and if your psu has a 6+2 pin gpu connector then get a used GTX 1070 or a new RTX 2060

okay, now I hate proprietary PSUs and motherboards. You will need this plug to support the 75w power draw from the PCIe slot itself, which means this plug has to stay where it is (besides, it only has 4 wires, not 8 ) another PCIe 8pin to plug into the card.
