So many memes/jokes in this video, including this 43" panel from Walmart.

Walmart U.S & Walmart Canada get absolutely shafted in terms of quality of electrical products for sale meanwhile Asda in the UK gets all the decent stuff.

How does that work? xD :P

The good : is that a Jojo reference?

The bad : the aspect ratio is once again eating into the notch.

Is the old people connector a joke or do people actually not use coax anymore?

Increasingly rare, some countries skipped from ADSL to fibre like China and Thailand.

This reminds me of the Westinghouse 1080P thing from around 15 years ago that everyone was buying into and was always out of stock.

Perhaps a better candidate would have been the cheapest 4K TV.

(Note: Im from UK so i may be a tad off with US pricings here.)

I dont think its worth buying a 1080p TV nowadays, a cheap 4k TV would be substantialy better for not much more.

From what i can see, for ~$230 u can get a 43" 4k TV.

I think I could only recommend a 43" 1080p TV if it was $100.

That said, imo any1 who has any consideration for quality should consider ~$400 as 'cheap'. ~$900 as 'average' , and ~$1500 as 'good'.

So , as in the LTT video, a cheap TV used for a side room, but one in which u still want some quality, consider a $400 budget.

or a main room TV, again looking at quality but not enthusiast level, a $900 budget can get you somthing good.

And for people who truly want a great experience a $1500 budget can be used to consider OLED TV's, or larger high end LCD's.

Dont get me wrong, if a student is going of to live away from home during their studies and needs a TV, then sure by all means get the cheapest u can find available. A $100-$150 43" 1080p display is better than nothing, and certianly better than some crappy 32" junker that may or may not already be present at their new dwelling.

Another note here. I tend to be overly critical of LCD TV's in generl, my personal Bias on them will obviosly show through, i cant stand LCDs of any current type, im to used to CRT and Plasma displays with their far superior contrast, black levels, viewing angles, instant response times, low input lag(for 'non-smart' plasma TV's), and better uniformity. So the idea of buying a bottom of the barrel LCD TV, when I even dislike top end models, isn't somthing i think highley of.

  • 4 weeks later...

The world I knew was that my 1080p ultra wide monitor was good enough for 1080p gaming,  then Linus said their shouldn't be any artifacts on his eyes, and then I see the artifact- everything I know is a lie.
