Reinstalling Windows After Cpu/Motherboard/Ram Upgrade

Is there a way to reinstall windows after upgrading my pc without losing the files in my ssd?

Back them up to another drive.

Well you don't need to reinstall so are you asking about doing a install that doesn't involve all the old drivers from the previous hardware?

Cant i do Reset this PC from the settings and the select to keep my files?

Is it just files or are you worried about programs and things like game saves?

You can....if you trust Windows not to wipe anything out (which I don't)

But that's not an answer to my question...

 

If the SSD is a separate drive, then yank it out before you re-install

I have a hard drive and a ssd (windows is installed on the ssd). What exactly do you mean?

Where is all your data stored? If it's NOT on the drive where Windows is installed, then you can unplug the drive that contains your data, and re-install windows on the SSD. No worries. If your data is *also* on the drive where Windows resides, it becomes a little more complex.

Yeah i have data also stored on the windows drive

Just plug that SSD with system without any reinstall and boot. It will work. And it's faster than asking questions. :)
