Hi guys, I was planning to build a "all around Pc, but im kinda on budget and I dont have a 1440p screen for now, I just have a 1080p.

I was wondering if RX580 was still a good choice in 2019 for gaming/small project rendering?

The prices are: 

  • RX 580 (8GB ) : 255 euros 
  • GTX 2060 (6GB): 380 euros

    Is the 2060 worth the 130 euros difference?

 

the rest of the components:

- CPU ryzen 7 2700x or Ryzen 5 2600x (!?)

- Mobo MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC Scheda Madre DDR4, SATA3, Dual M.2, GbE/ac WiFi, USB 3.1

- RAM 16 GB (2 X 8 GB), DDR4, 3000 MHz, C15 XMP 2.0, Nero Corsair Vengeance LPX

- PSU EVGA 650W G2 (still looking for something cheaper)

-Case : Sharkoon TG5

- SDD 860 EVO 500 GB

-HDD: WD 1 TB

Get the 580, use the extra Euros to buy a better CPU and or more RAM. 

 

The 2060 is not worth the 130 euro difference imo, especially if you're on a budget and going for an all around rig.

I mean the RTX 2060 performs on pair with the Vega56 so your comparison is a bit off.

Studying abroad, ditched the crappy laptop for a do-all laptop double. Dried factory CPU paste, long memory timings, cooler cools the inductors but not the mosfets and an inch of unused internal space on both left and right

Model: HP Omen 17 17-an110ca CPU: i7-8750H (0.125V core & cache, 50mV system agent undervolt) GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Mobile (1696MHz 0.812V ~ 1860MHz 0.95V) RAM: 12GB DDR4-2666 19-19-19-43 2T Storage: 128GB Toshiba NVMe SSD (KBG30ZMV128G) + 1TB Seagate 7200RPM 2.5" HDD (ST1000LM049-2GH172) Monitor: 1080p 120Hz IPS G-sync

 

The best thing to do is reading the clock speed that doesnt end in a pair of zeros. Software voltage readings are wrong if your motherboard's not a high end model

yeah i know, but the vega 64 and gtx 2060 are both for 1440p. and both on the same price range.

I was wondering if the GTX 2060 was worth the price or should i just get a "lower GPU" like a RX580 saving 130 euros for something else.

The rx 580 is fine for 1080p gaming now but in the future that may change. You get a good jump in performance for that money and a bit more future proofing for more demanding games. Now that being said it you could save the 130 now and upgrade your gpu sooner down the line.

What's the capacity of the SSD? Also what software for rendering? Some of these software use CUDA much better than OpenCL (or OpenGL, not sure how they call it these days), so RTX 2060 has enough gains on top of the RX 580 to be worth the money.
