Should we allow Wondershare advertising on our forum?

Hey Guys,

They reached out and honestly I don't have any experience with their software. I don't want junkware advertised on this site (in fact we try to keep advertising mostly off the site in general) so I want to know what you guys think.

I would be happy to help support the website in any way possible. I say go ahead and do it.

Also, define what you mean by "advertising"

Do you mean like banner adds? Or just forum post adds telling us about their products?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has used their products. I don't want ads for stuff that isn't good...

I could download a few of their products and give you my usage review.

By advertising do you mean like an affiliate account?

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

Down the main page it says that CNet gave them a 4.5/5* rating.. And it seems it's made for pirating/ripping youtube videos and porn or something.

It does sound pretty good, but I've never heard of them before and have zero experience in this type of software. I don't see a use for it myself either, but if they are legit and they're gonna pay you for ad views, then ok.

I'm with Linus on this and really don't know what to say, sorry.

Never heard of them but if it puts a few quid in your pocket and helps out LTT then I am all for a little advertising.

Nothing to see here - move along.

eh boss, do they have a list of recommended users for contact or review?

i'm sure they have some cherry-picked customers using the service.

we could evaluate the customers usage and report back.

At least linus is not using google ads, which tracks us,and also display inappropriate ads like Asian Women kind of thing.

I would not mind ads at all as long as they are not random ads and hosted by google.

Would you ever personally use the software? Would you ever personally recommend their software? No? Then please don't advertise it on your site.

Reach out to hardware companies that you think make good products and see if they wanna put a spot on your site.

I'm legitimately afraid to install freeware trials on my pc man, unless it's TurboTax. TurboTax all the way
