hhd hard drive lowering video quality?

So I have a desktop that's "OK" it would actually be a really  gaming pc but it has the processor, 16 gb ram but the graphics are integrated so its an editing pc anyway I can only screen record with a capture card and do duel pc  recording 

so after i record i plug a 1tb hhd hard drive in the laptop and transfer the video then the same on my desktop and then i edit it. But the quality looks somewhat bad and i thought that i will have to deal with it but one day i was watching them on the laptop and they looked perfect! so somehow when it gets to my desktop it's messed up! so i tried a usb flash drive and it looked worse so i figured that's because the flash drive is cheap.

 

So is it the usb port on the laptop or desktop?

the hard drive i use to transfer? 

or the cord i use to plug it in?

 

Just some random guy who has a gaming computer to play on his Minecraft server
