I had to switch out my PSU, it was a 380W Antec EarthWatts unit, but it didn’t have an 8 pin CPU connector that I needed for the motherboard, so now a 650W Antec EarthWatts unit is in there.  Anyways, my new HTPC is done, just got to install windows on it!

Games Beaten:

  • God of War - PS4

Put on hold:

  • Splatoon 2 - Switch

Hey there, Wannabe JayzTwoCents here, back at it with another Personal Rig update.

After getting into some of the more heavy processes such as rendering, I figured "Hey, this i7 is great and all, but what if it WASN'T and i7 with Haswell-e Architecture eh?

So after grabbing another PHAT 360mm Radiator, a case to squeeze it all in, and another healthy dose of my (Questionably terrible) Hand Bent Tubing runs: I give you

CROSSFADE Version 2.0

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen THREADRIPPER 1920x 12c/24t OC'd to 4.1GHz with a Phanteks Glacier TR4 Waterblock. {RGB cabling came messed up so no built in lights. :( )
MOBO: AsRock X399 Taichi
RAM: Avexir Core 32GB 4x8GB @2666MHz

GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Armour OC'd to 2.1GHz with a fancy Shmancy EKWB Cooling block {TF9 Acryllic Specifically, I think}
Storage: 2x2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM HDD's in RAID 1, + 1x240GB Corsair Force LE SSD for a boot drive.

PSU: Corsair RM850 (Proudly serving me since its launch date)
Case: Fractal Define R6, Blackout Edition

Cooling:
2x360MM EKWB Full Copper Radiators
Primochill PETG 1/2 inch Tubing
D5 Vario Pump with Alphacool Eisedecke Acryllic pump top
EKWB Reservior
Primochill Revolver SX Silver Fittings
6x Corsair SP120 RGB Fans

And about 1.5 Liters of EKWB Cryofuel in acid green.

(Also, for those of you wondering why the GPU isn't in the top slot, the back-plate actually conflicts with the plastic IO shroud on the motherboard, and I wasn't gonna bother with shaving either down with the loop allready half built)

What is that wire grid system you are using for hanging tools on the wall? It looks so much cleaner than pegboard.

Sure.  Here's mine, it's an Early 2008 Mac Pro I bought when I was working at Apple still.  It's not "quite" your standard Mac Pro Early 08 though.  For one, it's "bootcamp" BIOS is unlocked (it has a Insyde H20 setup utility), this was for doing some internal testing of things, developing, etc.  It is currently a 2.8GHz 8x core model, overclocked to 3.2GHz by means of a bus overclock, has 32GB RAM, Radeon 7850 (OC'ed to 1050MHz and RAM to 1300MHz), and a SoundBlaster Zx.

It no longer runs Mac OS after I quit Apple.  It just runs Windows now.

I've always been very conservative with PC lighting and whatnot, but this time around I thought "f*ck it" - I need some color in my life. Still have some plans to class it up a bit, but I'd been without PC gaming for almost two weeks (my graphics card died), so the assembly was quick. I decided to pay a premium to have the 8700K delidded (delit?), done up with liquid metal, polished IHS and pretested at 4.9 GHz, as opposed to doing it myself (also has full 2 year warranty). Full specs at the bottom.

MOBO Asus ROG Maximus X CODE (Z370)

GPU EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition iCX, 11264 MB GDDR5X

RAM G.SKILL TRIDENTZ RGB SERIES - 32GB (4X8GB)

PSU Corsair RM850x White

STORAGE Western Digital Black NVMe M.2 SSD 500 GB (OS) / Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB / Samsung SSD 850 EVO 256GB

CASE Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic (White)

CPU COOLER NZXT Kraken X72 360mm AIO

Runs great, temps are fine. CPU idle around 33-36C (without the overclock), and the highest it's been during lengthy gaming sessions, was 51C, so plenty of headroom for the coming OC. The GPU does get a bit toasty down there in the bottom, but I still need to figure out the fan situation - probably adding three intake fans on the bottom, but might also go for the vertical GPU mount when it's available in white. Definitely going to be water cooling this bad boy in the not so distant future.

@Direwinds, Love the aesthetics , not to much colors and I really like the blue, magenta and green accent on the top :x And I am not a fan of windows or RGB normally.

Awesome case, I just wish that if you isn't going to use two systems that you could move the mid-plate to accommodate more space/depth for the main system.

@Direwinds loving the soft tubing! definitely a fan, and i feel like soft tube builds need more love around here

also, the top of that huge case looks kinda empty with only just fans. youre 100% overkill already, why not also put a 360 rad up there? :P

Thank you, that tubing is not your standard tubing, it's tygon medical grade tubing, its absolutely impervious to degradation vis chemicals or organic materials :D

I am waiting for the top 480 panel from corsair, I'll add another radiator up top, I think it will be a cross flow radiator.

I can only run at SATA 2 which is my bottleneck, but otherwise still plays the latest games at respectable FPS with adjustments. System has been upgraded over the years but the CPU, Graphics card and MOBO are about 12 years old, still have original invoices. Gigabyte claims that the MOBO can do over 50,000 hours. At the time it seemed like a lot but now, I think I am just testing their claims in real world.

Can give more pics or details on request, please let me know if you like haha. I also have a collection of Amiga Commodore 2000's and Amiga 500s and 300s with original monitor and some of the boxes, will post one day if I can get to them in storage! :)

My OCD is in full force, I'd pay you to allow me to clean inside your system. Still, my mother's system is about the same age as yours and it looks like the inside of a vacuum cleaner with a full bag, so ya doing ok ;)
