Is that the carbide air 540? If so how do you get the fans installed at the bottom?

I've actually just ordered a pack of rubber grommets after realizing I can install two 140mm fans in front of the front three 120mm fans.

If you angle the fan just right you can put two screws from the bottom that would hold it to the case pretty firmly. Do you plan on installing the two 140's directly infront of the 3 120's?

I see, I wouldnt have anywhere else to place the HDDs though so I srill couldnt do that.

Im going to try putting two 140s directly in front of the 120s yes, just on the outside where the dust filter is, and the filter can be stuck to the cover instead. I might need to get a pair of slim fans if the ones that came with the case are too thick.

Take the filter off and they will fit fine. Don't see why you're doing that anyway. Fan on fan won't help at all. I put my 3 hhd's in the back with the 4 ssd's.

I did read that fan on fan can improve airflow, I want to test it at least and see if it helps. The rubber grommets were only £3 for 20 anyway.

Yes but how? The case doesnt come with anywhere to install 3.5" drives in the back.

I also thought of another way to hold in my 120mm fans to my radiator - Install the last 2 long screws to the middle screw holes near where Im currently using tape, then use cable ties around the screws and through the screwholes on the fans.

Since the tape will eventually dry up and fall off.

I used a dual 5.25 bay that hold three hdd's.

Oh right, I cant use one of those because my motherboard has its soundcard in one bay, and I have a blu ray drive in the other.

Tape replaced with a better permanent solution:

veYnSdn.jpg

I overtightened the right cable tie though and the screw is now angled, but I wanted it held well.

And I had absolutely no luck with finding low profile / L shaped CPU extension cables, so I wont ever be able to fit in 140mm fans instead of the 120mms.

Just upgraded one of my builds from a AMD A8 7650k to a AMD FX 6300 and it came out looking great, the cable management isn't the best but it still looks good the CPU I got at microcenter for $90 and the motherboard was about $40 with microcenter's CPU and motherboard combo

also I'm wondering what I should name this build

also if you see any marks on the table in the pics it's just from the kids drawing on the table with marker

The build was sponsored by the school I was in at the time as a showpiece for the class. They paid for every part except for the Processor, RAM, the SSD and the HDD in the back. I could have taken some of those parts back, but I wanted to leave something behind for new students to tinker around with. :)

Meh, Kinda wish I just got a evga fe 1080. I always hated asus gpu tweak. Still cant figure out if they have an ingame overlay like precision x. So temped to put my old cards back in, still getting the same frames. Kinda hoped I could lock the frames in at 144. Guess Ill have to go sli again.

Motherboard looks a bit sketchy, but that's not a bad graphics card. EVGA is very good. The first graphics card i had was an Asus gtx 660.

Well, you can find some good and not expensive motherboards. You can find a Z170 for less than $200. For an example an expensive one the X99 Deluxe II which is over $500. Mine was $250, Z97 pro gamer and is this day a very good motherboard.

Wee I'm back with some updates to my setup ^^ A quick look at the 'OG setup': (My post is on 705, in case anyone wants to see the differences)

IMG_20160726_192025.jpg.db8e576552a8842e5e0c89169bce76c6.jpg

And here is how it looks right now at daytime:

IMG_20160824_171645.jpg

IMG_20160824_171704.jpg

The big guy in all his glory, gonna have to do something about that Blu-Ray Drive tho -_-

IMG_20160824_171723.jpg

Cablemanagement is also somewhat improved, though I don't know if I can live with those few remaining ones...

IMG_20160824_171739.jpg

Managed to bundle them up behind the PC, nice and tidy. I routed the cables through a cable canal that, as it turns out, can also be used to house my LED strip xD
I didn't want to have it beneath my desk though, since it would just leave the whole thing dangling around down there:

IMG_20160824_171906.jpgIMG_20160824_171858.jpg

Aaand so this is how it looks in the dark with all the lights turned up (And yes. All the stuff is RGB though the LED strip is broken in a way that it wont light up in the correct colour all the way, probably some broken contacts somewhere)

I'm really happy how it turned out and except actual PC upgrades I doubt that I will change anything about my setup. Thanks for your time, I hope you enjoy my contribution to this thread! :)

Dying of laughter at this.

Its a dell prebuilt machine with an ASUS GTX 960 & 32GB Crucial slapped in.
