My work in progress...

I first thought it looked a little too much bulky! Then I zoomed in on the image and saw that it is like a type of L-shapped computer case with everything on the outside, and changed my mind. 😅 What are the dimensions of that case or model if you don't mind?

Finally my main rig is back together again! I had to redo and clean out the entire loop after some metal that came loose (probably from a radiator?) Jammed up my pump.

No permanent damage luckily, and she's running F@H and BOINC on a nice and chilly (for the loop size!) 53 degrees.

right screen is 10 years old, speakers are almost 15 years old, they all work fine so never needed to replace them. I had a third monitor but I gave it to my uncle as he needed one and surround gaming with HD7850 with just 2G vram is a dream anyways.

3570K at 4.5Ghz but its getting cold so i can probably crank it up to 4.8ghz soon.

HD7850 2G with modded bios with UEFI support.

16G ram.

Z77A-GD65.

Case is nothing special, it holds my components and has purpose to showoff so I didnt even bother taking a picture of it.

There is a 18W blacklight bulb on top of the desk

Not planning on upgrading a single component until this computer is atleast 10 years old (3 more years to go)

Currently trying to save up for an upgrade (CPU (and most likely cooler), mobo, ram, GPU (probably) and storage) but for the time being, the system is still working well.
The CPU despite its age is still holding up quite well in games. Mostly use this system for multitasking and gaming with some streaming, coding virtualization and video/photo editing from time to time. Might end up throwing the RX card into another system and putting a 1050 in here since it's been causing some issues.

Specs: Xeon X5650 (4ghz), Asus Sabertooth X58, 24GB ram, MSI GeForce GTX 1070 AERO 8G OC and ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon Rx 470 4GB OC, 4-5TB storage all inside a COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition.

**PICTURES ARE PRE-CABLE MANAGEMENT**

I've had a bunch of issues with this build, but I went through a couple hours of diagnostics and eventually got it up and running! The description of my build is in this link: PCpartpicker but here are the specs...

Ryzen 5 2600x w/ stock cooler

MSI Armor RX 580 8gb

Ballistix 16gb RAM @ 3200

ROG Strix B450-F Motherboard

Intel 660p 512gb M.2 NVMe SSD

Toshiba P300 3tb HDD @ 7200 rpm

CX650m PSU

Corsair 100r

Built 09/2019

What do you think? Good mid-grade build? Open to all suggestions for upgrades in the future, or possible better "down grades."

LUL!

It actually outperforms the PC (it's a 12-core 64gb RAM beastie) when it comes to video editing...
And running Pro Tools on Windows makes me wanna hurl so.
That's what the three interfaces are for too, one is the mac sound, the other is the PC sound and the middle one is the source selector for the speakers 🙂

My Beast evolves. Added a third screen, an Oculus Rift S and about 30TB of mechanical storage. Looks very pretty with the dancing rain effect on the RAM and all the blue particle effects/spinning nebulae being driven by Wallpaper Engine.
