Post Your Battle Stations and Build Setups!

So this week I got some new parts to refresh my build a little and prepare it for the main components upgrade which I plan to do some time in Q1 2017. So right now the things I got are:

Case: Phanteks Evolve ATX Galaxy Silver

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650w 80+ Gold

Watercooler: Corsair H115i

...and sadly

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 1600MHz 2 x 4GB (8GB)

So this is what it all looks like now:

...and here is the reason why I had to replace my standard Vengeance RAM with the Low Profile model ;( My bad for not checking but I didn't expect it to be an issue.

Here is what it used to look like before I got new parts:

Low Profile Memory! Same here! Difference is in my case the CPU cooler is really wide and hanging over the ram so only low profile fits in there (and can only be swapped with fan removed.

I should make a follow up with some pics of the inside of my dust monster.

What do you think of the SF600 when paired with the Node 202? Is cable management pretty easy? I'm actually planning a very similar build lol

Cable management was pretty easy, maybe 15 minutes shoving cables around. That said, I had to pile up all the cables where they exit the PSU since there isn't really anywhere else to hide things in the 202.

I'm also very surprised with the temps considering all the hardware in there. The GTX 1080 never seems to break 83C regardless of ambient. The Noctua L9i struggles to tame the 6700K though... it can reach 99C. Going to try an under-volt and see if that gets me stable in the low 90s. If that fails, I'll upgrade to a Cyorig cooler (though that would kill my Noctua brown town theme).

Hey everyone,

I have a pre-built Lenovo C360 which is not really optimised for gaming. But I don't want to build a new PC is there any way I can insert a new GPU?

Give me some budget GPUs for the computer also.

Please guys help me out.

So this is what my setup looks like now with the new stuff :D Also got around to OC my 2500k for the first time and got 4.5GHz 1.32v so far. Ran Prime 95 for a few hours and never went above low 60c's!

I went for the super-powered Toaster case so it wouldn't look too out of place in my apartment. Not a huge fan of the big giant gaming rigs, but I do find subtle lighting attractive (keyboard lighting, aggressive gaming laptops, bias lighting, etc...)

I also couldn't settle on a good 4K monitor, so I picked up a Samsung TV on sale. That should hold me over until some reasonably priced 32" 4K Displays come out!

Intel i7 6700K

GTX 1080 Founders Edition (Nvidia Branded)

Gigabyte Z170N Gaming 5 ITX

16GB Corsair 2133

500GB Samsung 850 EVO

Noctua L9i

2x Noctua 120mm NF-F12

Fractal Node 202

Corsair SF600

Samsung 40" 4k 7000 Series TV

Nice, almost identical setup as mine, I only envy the fact that the Node 202 still has room for some extra fans in the GPU chamber, how are the temps in there?

Mine gets 83°C¹ or 86°C² for the GPU, and 88°C or 92°C for the CPU, without and with dustfilters respectively.

¹ Stock Fan Curve.

² Temperature Limit set to 92°C and stock Fan Curve.

Main rig: Intel i7 6700K @ 4 Ghz with Silverstone Argon AR06 + Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM, Asus Z170I Pro Gaming, 2 x 8 GiB Corsair LPX Red @ 2.133 Mhz, MSI GTX 1080 Founders Edition, 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB, Corsair SF600, Silverstone Raven RVZ02 (no window version).

For on the road: MSI GE72 2QC Apache with 16 GiB RAM upgrade.

Just posting a quick update -- swapped the 212 EVO for a Cryorig H7 and the EVGA GTX 970 SSC for the XFX R9 380x.

The H7 matches a ton better imo and the 380x cables route a ton nicer. I would have gotten a 390x or something but I can't justify the price point. I'm waiting for Zen/Vega so prices will drop (been eyeing x99/6800k, but $450 for a CPU?..)

I miss the 970 backplate, but I don't miss Gimpworks/driver gimps. 970 also had unbearable coil whine, which the 380x completely lacks (it cools amazingly too, 5-10c cooler than the 970)

The reason I switched and went AMD is pretty simple -- FreeSync. The monitor you see is the Nixeus NX-VUE24A, which packs a 30-144hz FreeSync range, 1ms response time.. it's a pretty great panel (even though it's not 1440p, for which I would get a 27" for anyways)

As you can see i'm going for a Star Wars sort of theme - I've always liked blue/white (and the ASUS Z170-A is one of the best Z170 boards on the market, still) and it's probably something I'll stick with for awhile.

Like I said, I'll be getting a 490x/Fury x3/whatever AMD cooks up next to swap this 380x with. 1080p 144hz is the mission ;)

hope you guys like the photos! please let me know what you think!

I'm in the same situation, this is also my first GPU. technically my first is an EVGA 650ti Boost that I got for $30, but it's currently in a friend's system (I'm trying to get it back lol). When I eventually upgrade, I'm definitely keeping the card for a shelf decoration.
