Post Your Battle Stations and Build Setups!

It's a Sansui Z-9000x. I'm into older receivers and the quality and sound can't be beat! Around 1985 and older the receivers are also easily serviceable.

Here's more pics of the model unit. (Not my own pics)

Yes that's a heat pipe cooler setup in a receiver lol

Quality of the pictures isn't great, but these were just taken and it's already dark in my room (that's the UK for you).

Upgrades I hope to achieve within a few months:

GTX 760 -> 970 / AMD Equivalent

New CPU + Motherboard for a black and red theme

A new case (as of yet undecided - a ATX version of the H440 would be perfect).

As it stands, I have:

i5 3470 + H80i (don't recommend the cooler; software is troublesome and for the price I expected better performance).

8GB DDR3

CS550

Zalman Z11

@Lantica Sir, you may be proud of yourself. You have encouraged me enough by your rig to actually modify mine.
I've thrown out Philips C39 as my amp and switched to my homeland product - Unitra.
I am so forking happy right now with this rig.
And may be your all cooling methods miserable. I open my window and at idle I have 27oC at GPU and 34oC at CPU O.o
Well, PERFECT.

I just took 10-15 shots of my home-office / man-cave and discarded most of them due to bad lighting. The flash on my phone really doesn't do much good for lighting so that'll be tomorrow sometime when i can catch a beam of daylight (while not being off for work).

One picture came through quite okay though so I'm putting this one up tonight as - if for nothing else - a teaser of what to come =)

I'm building my first gaming PC, moving over from console, though I already know a fair bit about computers. I have come up with an Intel and AMD build. The Intel one has a limited motherboard, not supporting overclocking, SLI or crossfire, and only 32GB of ram. The AMD build is overclockable, supports crossfire, supports 64GB of ram, and I can run crossfire between the APU and a similar dedicated card. It is also ~$70 cheaper even with a CPU cooler. The APU alone with 2133MHz ram can run BF4 at around 40 - 50 FPS on medium settings. I know it souds one sided, but I have been told it isn't. Opinions on which one I should build?

Build 1

Total - $627.92

Build 2
Total - $567.92
P.S. - This one has a nice red/black color theme ;)

First off, welcome to the LTT forums! :)

Secondly, you should post this in the New Builds and Planning section here: http://linustechtips.com/main/forum/18-new-builds-and-planning/ This thread is meant for people to post pics of their existing setups.

Thirdly, the Intel build with i5 and GTX 750Ti will be vastly more powerful than the AMD APU build. You don't need to overclock an i5 to get amazing performance out of it (I know personally). ;)

I'll join in on the fun.  This is my desk... though disclaimer:  this was about a year and a half ago... back when my desk was actually clean.  Other than the desk getting buried in paper, I have upgraded the center screen to an ASUS 27" IPS gaming monitor.  The ones pictured are Samsung 22" LEDs.

First of all, sorry for the lousy image quality .. Once i get some better natural light going where I live i'll put some better quality ones up, until then - this'll have to do.

Come into my office:

There's room for four people at the tables, all with their own setup. The top-shelves gives me ample room for assorted hardware and boxes. If ever i run out of space, I'll probably add another level just above or below the current one.

The Build area:

This is the spot where i build and fix PC's for myself, friends and family. The ModMat Extreme gets unrolled whenever needed.

The little chest contains my main screwdriver, thermal-paste, strips and other handy stuff needed when working a build.

The Gamepad is the Cyborg V "Rumble Pack" - best damn gamepad out there imo.

Also in the picture, my two analog SubD9 joysticks (Wico + The Arcade) hooked up to my Amiga (see below).
