Post Your Battle Stations and Build Setups!

Recommended Posts

My rig is fairly new. Built her up in September:

This is the entire setup: http://sdrv.ms/VHRvFc

And here are some of the internals: http://postimage.org/gallery/rfb5jka/

i7 3770K at 4.68GHz (Used the Gigabyte program, yes i know it's a noobish thing to do)

Gigabyte UP4-TH

GTX 670

Vengeance 1600 RAM

Samsung 830 128GB

Silverstone Strider Plus Gold 750W

Coirsair 800D

Custom waterloop on CPU and GPU

Samsung S27A950D

Ducky Shine II Blue Switches White Backlight

Thermaltake Level 10M esports White Mouse

Harmon Kardon Soundsticks III

I am in the process of making some LED strips, however the soldering iron purchased off ebay doesn't work (who would have known?) so gotta go down to Jaycar and get myself a proper one. Also sleeving will be done soon. Just gotta wait till that damn MDPC shop opens, and measure up my cables.

I'm actually really interested in purchasing the Ducky Shine 2 with blue switches and white backlighting just like yours. How has your experience been with the keyboard? Anything bad?

Hey all, here's mine.

Specs:

-i5 2500k @ 4ghz with Noctua NH-D14.

-Msi Z77a - GD55.

-8gb Gskill ripjaws.

-6970 crossfired with 6950 (shaders unlocked and overclocked to 6970 clocks ).

- Ocz zt series 750w modular power supply.

- OCZ agility 3 60gb (windows + a few games) and a ghetto 320gb WD drive of some sort for storage.

-Coolermaster HAF 922 red edition.

Planned upgrades:

- 120gb SSD to replace 60gb.

- New storage drive, Thinking a single 1tb WB black should do me.

- New monitors. Not a priority but its about time I got some wide screens.

- Sleeve and tidy up cabling.

As you can see I did some DIY sleeving, I think it turned out ok and has a nice effect when lit. Cable management isn't horrible but I never feel like I can get this just the way I want it, lol. Anyhow, far from finished RIG.

It was recommended by a co-worker of mine when I did this build earlier last year. It's not a bad cooler per say, temps at 4.5Ghz in Prime small FFT's push 68C. I'm eye balling the H100i or even the new Kraken X60. I'd like to do a loop at some point but now just isn't the time to drop $900.00 on a quality set up for me.

You mad though

Pictured is my HP Elitebook 8570W. I also have a desktop upstairs which was my main computer before I got this laptop.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3GHz dual core)

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870

HDD: Hitachi 500GB

RAM: 4GB DDR2 800MHz

Mobo: MSI something something AM2+ board

Case: Some random prebuilt case.

It's a terribly nice laptop. The Lenovo W530 is also a good laptop but I think the HP looks better :D Yes it's heavy and big, but then again it's more of a desktop replacement than a superportable laptop. It really is a tank. Absolutely no flex on keyboard, very very smooth touchpad and you can take it by the screen and wiggle it around as much as you'd like - won't break.

Also battery life is pretty acceptable. I get 4 to 5 hours on a full charge when surfing the web. Keep in mind though this model doesn't have Nvidia Optimus because 10bit panel on some models (IPS screen) and HD4000 can't into 10bit.

Why not? Even if I had the money, I would propably not do watercooling. It's just too big of a hassle (imho). I also think that WC doesn't look that good if you got thick tubes all over the place.

hey got a question for you since you did the bios upgrade, do you have any fan issues? i ran asus smartdoctor for my direct cu II 6950 and it gave fan issues, even with just unlocked shaders. I think its just because its a modded firmware but i want to confirm that.
