desk Is this desk good for my gaming setup?

Hello!

 

So, I am wanting to buy a new desk for my gaming setup....

 

I found this desk: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S29047257/ , and I wanted to ask you if this desk would be good for my gaming setup...

 

The size of the desk fits my needings

I would have 1 monitor on it (maybe 2 in the future)

Sure? It's huge, so you'll have plenty of room. Only you can really decide if it's what you need..not really sure what you're asking in particular.

I just wanted to know the opinion of other people on the desk since I don't want to buy something that is not good...

The width (23 5/8 ") is really small, from someone that has a similar desk, do yourself a favour and get something wider (the depth of the desk)

Cause ikea products use cheap wood and screws they chip break and just warp easy

It's perfectly fine. I have a 78" Ikea top and it's done exactly what it needs to do; holds my monitor, monitors, and gives me space for reading/writing.

It's not amazing quality, but it's also cheap. So.

Most of the time it's not wood at all, but I've never experienced a warped piece. Just take care of your belongings and it's fine.

They're really not bad at all.

It's not that small. 2 feet is pretty standard. Any more and I'd almost say it's too deep for a lot of spaces.

Most of the time it's not wood at all, but I've never experienced a warped piece. Just take care of your belongings and it's fine.

Okay, should I buy it then or should I find another desk that is maybe more expensive and better quality?

From my perspective (60 cm depth) I can really install properly my monitor and my keyboard, too near for me

But maybe it's something subjective, I would really appreciate something more spacious (if the room can fit it)

Honestly, to get better quality you're going to have to spend 3 to 4 times as much. It's not really worth it. Most of the time you're just getting particle board that has more glue content so it seems heavier, thus "better quality".

I have a 29" monitor and I have loads of space between myself and it. I wouldn't want to be any farther back tbh.

It's likely made of a very similar material with a different laminate on top.

In order to get something of serious quality you're better off looking at local shops that do the work in house.

i have an ikea kitchen countertop with an alex drawer and some legs on each end, it's really good quality and not that expensive

this is the one i got but there are versions as well without any print on them
it's a bit better quality than their normal desks which are hollow, this one is an mdf (i think, it's some sort of particle board) so you can drill into it or make holes for keyboard and mouse wires for example
