Using a second GPU To Stream encode?

Janarli

Hey ltt community!

So i have a r7 2700x 16gb (3000) and a 1070ti, I have a old 1060 3gb lying around and i was wondering if it was at all possible if i could hook it up and use it to strictly stream encode because my average framerate drops by a good chunk when i stream, Is this possible and if so is it viable?

possible, probably viable maybe not, but it would like to see someone try.
but you have a 8core cpu you could let some of those cores do encoding :) we are still at the point where in games some cores are unused.
i didnt notice a big peformance hit when i tried cpu encoding.

Current build: Ryzen 7 1700x, asus prime x370-pro, 16gb gskill trident z rgb, asus rog strix gtx 1070 ti, corsair rm650x, nzxt s340 elite, samsung 840 pro 256gb, 1.5tb hdd.

use the hardware encoder on your 1070ti , using nvenc

the hw encoder is a separate piece of silicon in chip, won't affect game fps (much) if used
