We cant help you with your piracy. Thats something you have to figure out on your own. The Community Standards and all. I myself dont really pirate, ARG..... I sometimes use Kodi but with Hulu Live I can generally catch what I want the next day on demand.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

ignore.
Watch out for comments on popular movie/music torrents that will mention that isps are giving notices for it. Only torrent with a VPN from now on. You'll be fine.

Insert linus tech tips PiA ad roll

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I'm not really worried about pirating, I don't mind paying for most things. I just don't like the fact that everything is easily  monitored. Just looking for some tips to help stay anonymous..

If I remember right there isn't a hard law in the US about copyright stuff for ISPs to follow. Other countries have a 3 or 6 strikes law before they cut off your internet or you pay a fine or something along those lines. Some in the US I think have like a 6 strike policy but most just turn a blind eye to it if you're not getting several over the course of a year or so and don't really enforce their own policy. This isn't saying to go pirate or anything, just what I've seen over the years regarding ISPs in the US and copyright.

Having done a lot of research before buying, I can easily recommend Nord VPN. They keep no logs, they're based in Panama, and even if the authorities demand they secretly log servers they'll say "fuck no, fuck you, fuck off" they also have double hop servers, and of course torrenting servers. It also has a master kill switch, and a kill switch you can set for individual programs. Make sure you set your DNS in your device's network settings to their DNS (103.86.96.100 and 103.86.99.100) and everytime you connect, do a DNS leak test http://dnsleak.com/ . Every once in a blue moon it's possible a sever is having a DNS leak. Report it to them, switch servers, and they'll fix it pronto. I believe one paid subscription will cover up to 5 or 6 devices (including mobile devices). There are also ways to install a VPN (I think you can do this with Nord as well) on your router, but that requires certain routers with certain hardware and some extra knowledge. If you start to experience slow downs, you can easily reconnect. Nord has a thing (most good VPNs do) where it will connect you to the fastest/least populated server wherever you select. It also does work with services like Netflix, but you have to find the right server in the right country, as services like Netflix will eventually see lots of requests from the same IP and block it, knowing it's a VPN server. Most of the time, a VPN will have overhead which will slow down your speeds a bit, but usually not too dramatically, it's just something to keep in mind.
