Computer Randomly Shutting Off

markbro13

Hey Everybody,

I just got a new EVGA gtx 1070 SC installed in my PC to upgrade from my 1060. The problem is when i let the computer idle for more than 10 mins now it just shuts off. Why? I have a 600w EVGA PSU and that SHOULD be more than enough for a i7 7700k and 1070. Any help is appreciated.

Computer shutting down can mean a couple things.  The PSU is botched or temps on CPU go to 100c and it automatically shuts off PC which is not your case.  Very weird but I think the culprit may very well be the PSU.  You have a good PSU, problem is that its botched.  I would personally change PSU's buy one temporary and return it.  See if it happens with the new PSU.  Def I believe its your PSU my friend.  Also in your power options make sure its not set to hibernate or sleep.....   Can you fill us in on your complete specs.. Does it shut off or does it go straight to black screen and restart? I had the latter and a motherboard update fixed the issue.
