Laptop Brands What you can rely on??

Hey guys. 

About 2 years ago, I opened a topic on this.

About what laptop Brand you can count on? That it will last long, and what give you any issues in software or hardware.

 

 

I live in Israel, so I need to know what is the most reliable brand ! 

I have 2 top : Asus and Dell. 

 

There is Lenovo, That every one trying to sell, and there are many options, as well as they are cheap.

But I am not sure about them.

 

I do have a laptop that we bought like in 2008, but I am just not sure. 

Why?! 

Well cause I know few guys, that got the Lenovo gaming Laptop, and every one had some issue. 

One with screen , other with keyboard.

 

 

So I would appreciate if you could drop your thoughts about it.

Most brands makes good and bad laptops. Usually cheap laptops are garbage no matter who made it.

 

I've only had (older) business laptops from Dell, Lenovo and HP. I've never had any problems with any of them.

I am thinking the same. But yet again. The Lenovo Gaming laptops ain't cheap, and still had issues. Or the temps high, or they keyboard would bulk.

First rule of making a good purchase is to never buy solely based on the brand, but also the product.

 

A lot of people I know bought the ASUS TUF gaming laptops because it was by ASUS, who has built a strong reputation amongst gamers, notably from the RoG line of products. But after a while, they realized that the TUF laptops were actually mediocre at best, and that better options were out there for the same price or less.

 

The brand may dictate stuff like RMA/warranty policies, but always do research on a specific product that you may be looking at.

Thank you... I am so sick of people saying "Dell/HP/Whoever is unreliable, don't buy them."

Large companies make so many products... some amazing and reliable, some horrible, overpriced and cheaply put together.

The only thing that I would think would make a brand difference is customer service.

You see, you can find a laptop with same hardware from Asus and lenovo, and almost same price, so how you choose?! forget about the beauty part. How will you decide what to buy if same have same preferences.??!???

The core hardware may be similar, but each manufacturer has different implementations of the same hardware, some of which are;

• Cooling system implementation (no 2 laptops are alike and some are worse than others, so this is very important)
• What software is pre-installed (if any)
• Display sourcing and additional features like G-SYNC

There are many things to look at when buying laptop, not just specs and price

 

Build quality, input devices quality, display quality, cooling solution, battery life, portability (weight, thickness) and other minor things like ports selection, audio quality etc

And this is when you need to know which one will be better.

On which system, you can trust. And this is where this topic coming in.

Yes, but all of that depends on the manufacturer, and this is when you need to know ,which one will do it better. 

Which one will not cheap out to save money ,.

Laptop to be light, and have a good GPU for https://www.sketchup.com/  software, and similar.

Back-light keyboard is a must. 

Well you know how it is, you want every thing. 

Budget is about 1000$ ~ 5000 shekels

 

You would always look for the best for the money you pay. And that is why I was asking about brand, cause I know which part will be best, but after that which brand will have it combined well, and have other quality stuff in.

This one is the heaviest.

Battery life - well mate, we all want a long lasting one. And I don't think there is a laptop that can last less then 2 hours. Unless you play on it, or run multiply heavy software.

Weight.. well less then 2 killos will be nice. Not more then 2.3 i think . It is for a girl.

 

And as I said, the budget 1000$~5300 shekels. 

And the better performance is the best.
