Isnt there an old MacOS version you can install yourself?

Snow Leopard was available to purchase on DVD but I'm pretty sure the EULA would say only to be installed on recognised/approved devices.

The current Macbook line-up is a mess, no need to complicate it further

Here's my vision on the future of Macbook:

1. Rid the Macbook 12 inch, now that the iPad Pro has arrived it's pretty much useless now, and Apple didn't even bother refreshing it

2. Only 3 main line-up

  • MacBook Air: Starts at $899 for 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM would be the best, maximum upgrades only goes to 512GB and 16GB of RAM for about $1199, target casual users including students, offices
  • MacBook Pro 13: Starts at $1399, comes with 256GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and Radeon Pro GPU minimum, targets creators who wants mobile machine
  • MacBook Pro 15: Starts at $1999, comes with 256GB SSD, 16GB of RAM and Radeon Vega GPU minimum, targets pros with maximum performance

Also, Apple needs to improve the thermal solution and keyboard on the Pro: the butterfly keyboard currently still suffers from reliability issue, and thermal is a disaster (in 2018 model), literally holding the CPU and GPU's performance down. The Macbook isn't even the thinnest and lightest of its kind anymore, so adding 5 or 7mm of thickness and 100 or 200g of weight in exchange for more durability isn't gonna kill anyone, even with the extra weight Macbook is still a gorgeous laptop

 

The laptop market isn't as it's used to be 10 years ago, and Apple needs to quickly realise that their machine are far too expensive for what it brings to the table compare to similar Windows machine, regardless of macOS

Get a Matebook X Pro for $1349 install Mac OS and there you go. You get a better screen, better battery life, waterproof keyboard, better keyboard, hidden webcam, the same insanely good sounding speakers, better mic, USB A port, touchscreen, fingerprint scanner, and did I mention it's only $1349? The trackpad is worse and it's Hauwei not Apple so I would buy through Microsoft so they can service it if need be
