Why only 16 Gb memory in a 13" Macbook Pro?

So... I only use my laptop when i work and with that i have a Macbook Pro (2016 edition) with 16 Gb memory and I where very happy when the Macbook Pro got upgraded so that you could have 32 Gb because i use Parallels to work with more than one OS at a time. But i don't want to walk around with a 15"... Mostly because i also travel a lot and use my laptop in coffee shops, airplanes and so on.

After a long rant about me... here is my question... Why can't I add 32 Gb memory to the Macbook Pro 13" edition? There should't be a difference between the 15" edition and the 13" right? It's the same 8th gen Intel chip. What am I'm missing? :D

Apple isnt offering it, so your just stuck with 16 gigs RAM or a 15‘‘ model, because the RAM is soldered on the retina model. If you dont have a retina display you should do some research if you‘re comfortable with doing it yourself

Thanks for the answers @GoldenLag and @Mephi00.

Ok... So there is also only one slot and no such thing as a 32 Gb memory stick?
I will not do anything with my Macbook because It's my companies so I'm only here to learn. :D

no the Ram is saughtered to the board. there are no sticks.

you can get 32GB SODimms, but it doesnt matter since it is saughtered.

@GoldenLag is correct. The RAM is soldered to the logic board and it part of the design, so it cannot be upgraded or configured further.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

As far as my research goes: the retina 2016 13“ model uses soldered ram not the other one
