Its fucking because I have windows 7 MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I wanted to enable "g-sync" (freesync) on my monitor, but when I go into the nvidia control panel I see no option to do it. I have my drivers updated to version 417.71, my monitor's adaptive sync is on, but I can't seem to find anything. All the websites showing you how to do it all have an option to set up g-sync in the display tag. My monitor isn't one of the verified twelve, but I'm still supposed to be able to enable it still. The websites (and I'm pretty sure nvidia) said so. What's happening? If anyone could help I'd appreciate it a lot.

It doesn't have to be certified though, that's whats confusing..

My monitor doesn't seem that old, too.

Could be, I'm in the same boat.... The options are not there,... so I googled.
I'm also on HDMI,.. Moved to DP...still not there,.. Win7 tho...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

If you're using that gtx 970 you won't be able to do it anyway.

Ohhhh. I really don't want to move to 10. This PC still has my brother's old stuff on it so I can't change to 10 until then....

You could clone the drive and update if you're just keeping his photos and documents. I've never used 7 or 8(.1) but I love 10 coming from XP and then Linux.

Black Knight-

Ryzen 5 5600, GIGABYTE B550M DS3H, 16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz, Asrock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming,

Seasonic Focus GM 750, Samsung EVO 860 EVO SSD M.2, Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe, Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon

Daughter's Rig;

MSI B450 A Pro, Ryzen 5 3600x, 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz, Silicon Power A55 512GB SSD, Gigabyte RX 5700 Gaming OC, Corsair CX430

My brother told me I'm ok to change to w10, and he said something about transferring stuff through teamviewer.
