RAM compatibility for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 7567 Gaming Laptop

Hello all, longtime Linus fan, first time poster. A year and a half ago I purchased the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 7567 Gaming Laptop after watching Linus' great review of it. It was exactly what I needed it to be for a gaming laptop I could take to college. So far it's had no issues whatsoever. I am quite happy with it so far.

However I believe I am now ready to upgrade some of the user-serviceable memory and storage components. So far I have determined that it uses a 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM, but my real question here is what memory speeds are supported? Currently it has 2400Mhz but will it accept 2666Mhz memory?

I just want to be 100% sure before making an expensive purchase.
Also if you could tell me what M.2 form factor this thing uses too that would be appreciated, as I am also thinking of upgrading the SSD too.
Thanks!
Edited to include specific model number in title of post.

Yes, it is compatible.

M.2 form factor should be the same in most laptop.

what's difference is the length, but most have the longest, 2280 (22mm wide, 80mm long).

the long slot can support the shorter one.

An exact model number is needed to give any answer. On the dell website there should be a hardware/maintainence manual with the answers to those questions.

In general though ram will run at the speed of the slowest stick in the system.

2280 is the most common ssd form factor.

Not good advice for a laptop. Most of the time they do not have standoffs for the shorter 2260 or 2242 ssds. Unless you plan on mounting with duct tape.

If it's a Inspiron 15 7557, the M.2 slot is SATA only. I believe the models after that are NVMe compatible.

It is a 7567, so would that work with NVMe?

I have the 7567 model and I found the manual(s) online, but they only listed the as-shipped specifications, nothing specific about supported memory types and upgrades.
I am interested in increasing capacity and speed, but I guess I could play it safe and stick with 2400Mhz.

2400 to 2666 not much of a difference, yeah you can play safe with 2400 if you're not sure.

consult the manual, it should say the supported memory type.
