My new Teacher brought his Dog, he is a little mastiff, with him on the Hike. His name is Whiskey, I nicknamed him Whiskey Lake (absolutely not pun intended).

Not sure how many of you are aware, but there's been numerous cases of blue-green algae killing dogs. Be very careful where you let your dogs swim - lakes, rivers and ponds could pose a fatal threat.

I know, there are some Bastards in my Town who hid poisonous Dog baits in the Forest. We reported it to the Police but who knows what they're going to do about that...

While I don't condone it, I can think of a variety of reasons, such as feral dog packs or people letting their pets run loose, causing problems such as attacking children or small pets, getting into garbage cans and making a mess, digging in yards, attempting to mate with pets kept in fenced yards, barking, damaging property, etc.

 

Where I live, it's feral cats and pet cats people let run loose that are causing problems. Sadly, there is no legal way to deal with the problem short of shooing away the pests since the County Animal Control is not funded to deal wth cats.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!

Saturday was a good test and a great opportunity to practice calmness and existing among a myriad of distractions. Went to the local dog park where they were holding a "mutt masquerade" event. Plenty of yappy little dogs trying to get to them, lol (which Olivia usually doesn't tolerate well and becomes reactive towards), but these two were super laid back. It's interesting to watch Olivia actually turn her face away from other dogs barking very close to her now. She's learned to choose to ignore and avoid, rather than choosing to "get involved" lol. ;)

I'll wager you were not all that amused, either. Are her eyes ok? They look OK.

 

A family friend, when I was a kid, referred to skunks as black and white, streamlined fluid drives. I've heard other names for them but Mama told me not to use those words.

 

Skunks make good pets but I doubt Olivia would agree.
