Turning on the M.2 Slot on an Asus Vivobook F510UA-AH51 Laptop

Adraido

Hello,

My M.2 Drive fails to show up in the Bios and in disk management. I would eventually want to boot from it but all I need is for it to show in both those places and I know how to proceed from there.

This is the laptop I have:
ASUS VivoBook F510UA 15.6”
Intel Core i5-8250U Processor
8GB DDR4 RAM

Windows 10 Professional 64 bit.

I've upgraded it with the Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD the 2.5 form factor.

The computer has no other issues but putting in the prescribed M.2 drive (Crucial 250gb MX500) is proving to be difficult.

So far I've tried...
-Toggling the CSM in Bios aka Legacy Mode.
-Loading optimized defaults in the Bios after installing the drive.
-Reseating the M.2 drive and flipping over the M.2 drive.
-Checking the installation against other tutorials.
-Trying another M.2 drive - Adata 128gb SU800NS38.
-Taking out the boot drive - The Seagate.
-Making sure the computer supports the M.2 drives - it seems like it does. People have successfully upgraded the laptop using those drives.

The Bios - American Megatrends X510UAR version 308.
I'm thinking of updating the Bios but it seems there's no way back from there and it really does seem people have done the upgrade without doing that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

So an update on the issue. The drives both work just fine and they are the same type, of course. The drive manufacturer's website says they are compatible with the laptop I specifically have. I spoke with support from Asus. They say the only thing that is left is to send it in. I was seriously wishing I could avoid that.

So anyone else having this issue...your bios is updated, your drive is compatible and your drives are working fine otherwise as external drives, then you've probably done all you can but most likely your drive should work.
