Does Gateway still make PCs?

They haven't updated their website since the Windows 8.1 days. Also, I never see their PCs at stores these days. Did Acer discontinue the brand?

I think they are all under the Acer brand now...

@Radium_Angel got it right. Acquired by Acer, which is a shame because Gateways used to be built like tanks back in the day. Would be interesting to see what kinds of machines Gateway would be making in 2019.

Gateway was still making PCs in 2007, but it was a subsidiary of Acer at the time. I used to own a Gateway laptop, but the hinge and power button broke, so it got thrown away...

I bought a Gateway in 2002.

Pentium 4

Nvidia 440MMx

 

Was a huge upgrade for me at the time and ran my games amazingly good. If i remember correctly it  cost me $1000 at the time? 

Used until around 2008.

Now there's an ROI.

 

What little I remember from gateways (because I interacted with them almost exclusively long before my enthusiast days) is their clean internal layout.

After the Gateway i bought a Velocity Micro for too much money ( my last prebuilt)  but was pretty good upgrade.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 (replaced with a 7850BE, my first major upgrade ive ever done)

EVGA 7950 GX2

I still own a couple old gateways. They all work flawlessly save for batteries being long dead. Some of them see regular use, like a Gateway Solo used for writing floppies. (It has USB, CD, and Floppy! If it had dvd it would be perfect!)

My first PC was a Gateway. I bought it in 2003 because of their excellent reputation and they had a store close to home where I could get repairs done, get support, etc. Then the rats merged with e-machines, which had decided against buying due to their less than stellar reputation at the time, then closed their stores in 2004 (mutter, mutter, mumble, mumble).

 

Ironically, I replaced the Gateway, after having it for seven troublefree years, with an Acer, which turned out to be a piece of junk (everything I ever owned of Acer's ranged from meh to pure junk).
