IF YOU HAVE A 1080TI FE PLEASE HELP

LukzForEver

Hello, when i was trying out msi afterburner 4.6 version auto overclock, my screen just went black. I restarted and it didnt show anything. I hooked up another card in another pcie slot and when i checked gpu for my 1080ti founders edition it said bios unknown. I assume the bios just deleted itself. Now i need help flashing another gpu bios. I dont know how to flash bios and other tutorials seem to be old. Any help would be appriecieted.

@LukzForEver

doesn't make sense for MSI Afterburner to mess with your BIOS like this, have you tried uninstalling it and using DDU to remove all trace of drivers?

because most likely MSI Afterburner messed up things on the software side, i don't think it has the permission to mess with hardware like that.

i tried ddu, installing new drivers, installing displayport for 1080ti firmware. Nothing works, even the led on the founders edition doesnt work in windows

@LukzForEver

also when you restart your PC, do you get a BIOS screen? or it's constantly black?

Man, you should have not gotten that darn beta version.  I even made a warning about that but you didn't catch it I guess.  Your playing with fire when you play with beta apps especially those that control your hardware.  Try putting the video card on another PCIe x16 slot.  I have a feeling the slot may have gotten botched when you ran the oc scanner.  I doubt it killed your gpu tho.

If you tried another PCIe slot and still you get no picture,, then the video card is botched and you need to RMA it and get something for temporary use.

I do have a warranty, but a bios has been tried to be flashed (though its a stock bios) and the heatsink was removed. Would it still cover the warranty?

UPDATE! Also I had brought the card to resoldering service, but I just now got a message that they wouldn't reccomend that since i still have warranty. SO NO SOLDERING HAS BEEN DONE

Well technically you lose warranty as soon as you unscrew and take off the HSF.  However just put it back together nicely and patiently and they won't know the difference.  If you have EVGA they will not care,, I don't know about other companies but as I said, put it back together nicely and they won't know.

I have a problem that one screw is pretty scrached up. Also there was no warranty void if removed stickers.

Hmmmm, I don't think they are going to notice.  You have no choice, give it a shot, and as I said if its a good company they won't give you a hard time, if its EVGA for sure they won't give you a hard time about a scratched screw ya know.

I think I will try that out, I have nothing to lose anyway. As I said it has been bought from the official nvidia site. 500euros loss is really hard to deal with for me.

Ok cool.  So you RMA nVidia hmmmmm.  That is going to be tricky, but if one screw is scratched I think your ok.  Just make up a problem its giving and want to RMA it.  Just tell them it got botched after using it for some time.  good luck
